What is the Cost to Build a Barn Style 2-Story Tuff-Shed Yourself? | TB800 Sundance | Shed to Home

This 2-story barn roof shed ( TB-800 2S Sundance Series ) is another popular model that can be converted into a tiny home. Unfortunately, there isn't any information on how much the materials would be to build this shed yourself, or any information on the materials needed, including the size and dimensions of the lumber needed! If you were to build the shed yourself, you might ask, how big are the floor joists on the first floor, or how big are the rim joists on the second floor? Do they use runners, and if so, how big are they?
On a very hot day, Josh and Serenity tour a two-story TB-800 2S Sundance Tuff Shed available for sale at the Home Depot located in Longview, Texas. During the walk through, Josh breaks down what material is being used, including the dimensions of the lumber and how much is needed, along with the cost to build the shed yourself instead of buying it from Tuff Shed.
This 2-story barn style shed has 4 skids, 16 on center 2x4 framed walls, 2x6 floor joist foundation and 2x12 second story floor joists spanning 2 feet apart. The gambrel roof is also spaced 2 feet apart using 2x4 framing.

I am so glad you did this, Over the past weekend a friend of mine sent the 4 page set of prints for that tb800 shed. Now I live in the state of Fla where we have to have all kinds of wind straps from the truss to the top plate to walls to the floor joists then pins into the ground to hold the shed to the ground. I was going to do that price out the lumber to the set of plans that I have. The price of that shed goes for about 15,000 dollars, I know that the building is built off sight and a crew puts it all up , But if you can build it yourself the savings are unreal, Thank you for this video...

We have high winds where we are in Texas, so I am on the same page with you. I would definitely use some Strong Tie hurricane straps in the framing and a MH anchor to attach it to the ground.

IF you can find them in Your area or on the Site, they have Almost Doubled in Price! Also, On Every Video that Features these and the House looking one, I get Called a Liar and told I am talking out my Ass when I say you Can build them for Almost Half the Price... I Built a 11x11 Shed myself. 11x11 so I could Buy 2x12's and have 6in overhangs all around.. It Cost Around $500 If that... and to Buy a 12x12 Shed just like it would have cost OVER $3,000 and close to $5,000... And only took me a like 2 days, even with a bad back.

I want so badly to build one of these on my property & priced it out from Home Depot.. it was $21,357 completed & built w/me pouring my own slab (cost not included) I would like to have a tutorial & video of someone building this start to finish with current costs in 2023! We have a guy building our 2 story shed. I asked him to build the barn style roof & he said it wouldn't be as strong as a traditional roof..um...is that a fact? Just curious. He also refused to add 2 small windows to the 2nd floor. Is this also for a good reason that I'm just not aware of?
