What is the Difference Between College and University ?

In this video, I’ll answer the question - what is the difference between a college and a university? What is a College? A college refers to a small educational institution that is geared towards providing students with undergraduate degrees, usually a bachelor’s, although there are also a few that have associate degrees, as well.
There are also those who offer only two-year degrees, in contrast to the typical bachelor’s degree, which takes four years. These are usually found in community colleges and junior colleges.
What is a University? In contrast to colleges, a university is an incredibly large institution capable of offering both undergraduate and graduate degree programs.

Unfortunately universities have become big business! Even here in Canada you can be $50,000 in debt when you complete university and with the programs/courses you’ve taken, can’t find a good paying job in the field you studied for.

That's a true statement! That's a shame to hear about Canada. My father earned his degrees in Canada and he would talk about how great the system was and how it allowed people with little money to become highly educated. It sounds like that is no longer the case. Ahhh well. Such is life. 🤓

$50,000? wow. Education in North America could be better in comparison to other parts of the world, but that's a bit pricey. Fortunately, National Universities here in Peru are totally free. You just pay for tuition, and that's around $20 per semester. Otherwise, I wouldn't have had the opportunity of receiving higher education.

I went to community college, then transferred to a University. I earned my bachelor's of Mass Communication from the Communication department, which is in the college of Humanities at my University. I'm still confused as to how all this fits together, 😂.

Well, undergraduate typically indicates that you’re pursuing a bachelor’s degree. I believe associate degrees fall into that category also. Graduate and postgraduate degrees are those beyond a bachelor’s (Ex. Doctorate).

@@LetsTeach I'm not allowed to go to college or university. I'm over 18-39. You know the law. I'm 41. I don't go for higher education. I'm not smart enough and I don't the ability to go there. Age limits between 18-39. It's too late. I don't go to college or university without a high school diploma.

@@LetsTeach The United States. I haven't gone to high school since 1995 when I was 15. None. I went to Lifeline Center: Child for Development at Winchester Blvd from 1989-1996. No college or university. I went to go for home study at Art Instruction Schools in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Creating better artists since 1914. I'm not smart enough to go for higher education. I don't have any memories, no career. I'm not allowed to get a GED or go to college and university. Age limits are only between 18-39. I'm 41, I'm over the ages of 18-39. My life is over. It's too late. It's over. I got my last one part 2 of my last final exam. I went on hiatus.
