Rotator Cuff Tendonitis would be associated with an acute inflammatory response to overuse or tissue trauma. It often responds positively to rest and recovers in 2-3 days.
Rotator Cuff Tendinosis is associated with no active inflammation, it is a long term painful condition associated with degenerative tissue and cell changes. It often responds to treatment in 2-3 months or longer.
Rotator Cuff Tendinopathy is an umbrella term associated with any kind of disease of disorder of the tendon.

Very informational video. I started PRP treatment for my rotator cuff tendinosis a couple weeks ago and its really frustrating not being able to do the stuff I used to do 3-4 months ago without any sort of discomfort or pain

How are you doing now? I just got PRP nearly one month ago on the 14th. I got it on my AC joint. I wanted one around my rotator cuff muscles as well but the doc just said this one for now. My range of motion improved some so far, but still not as much improvement as I was hoping for. I go back next month on the 4th and will be asking for another around my rotator cuff muscles. I wish he would inject one around each muscle.

Thanks for the more precise definitions. I have tendinosis in my supraspinatus and infraspinatus tendons, and my doc suggested a cortisone shot if it doesn't improve. It's really not bad, so I'm thinking it just needs a break/slow rehab. Can't say I'm a fan of unnecessary steroid shots.

Definitely rehabilitate it conservatively. Please take a look at current research regarding cortisone injections and their effects on tendons.

Same case here.. I was prescribed 2 weeks rest and HILT/tense. If pain does not subdue then shot. Pain is still there coz I can't avoid driving, of course with some adjustments. I decided not to go back to the doc and start rehab even if it take months.

Thanks for the video. I'm a 30 yo male and I have been struggling with mild tendonosis of both shoulders for about a year now (right is supraspinatus, left is the infraspinatus I think - basically have pain at the insertion on the outside of my shoulder). It's mild but it's limiting. I'm a very active boxer/athlete and I simply cannot jab continuously on my right hand without having to drop my shoulder and rest it for a few seconds. I am trying to do a lot of eccentric work (banded eccentric external rotations mainly) but the progress is sllloooow. And because the pain is mild, it's hard to judge improvement. I really hope I can rectify this. Being otherwise very fit this has been the most challenging "injury" i have faced.

I also do boxing and mma and have tendinosis in my jab hand. Has your shoulder got better and if so what have you done?

@@giovanny2284 it has improved but I have somewhat plateaued. I have starting working with Corexcell (look him up on KZbin), and am hopeful. There are very useful exercises there I've not seen anywhere else to build up the rear delt and stabilize the shoulder. Looks at all his shoulder videos and you can piece together his programme. Be very strict about form. You can pay for a consultation(s) (currently what I'm doing), but if you watch all his shoulder videos his entire program is basically available for free (the trick is getting the form right to maximise results).
