Also, on the flip, as a kid we raised and showed registered Hereford hogs. When adding Duroc back into the bloodlines. They had to be 4 generations out from that cross/ addition of blood to be considered pure hereford again.

Wow, thank you so much. You just summed up and verified what has taken me a couple of months of research to find out. I too was a little disappointed that "pure bred", pedigreed, and registered rabbits really don't mean a whole lot, but also I understand that it would be too costly and cumbersome to try and set a 100% pure standard.

Poultry is shown by phenotype just like rabbits. It's all about the standard....
