thank you so much for this video and for initiating this entire series! I’m an addiction professional and this is so helpful for me in terms of explaining the systemic way that cannabis affects the body’s attempts to achieve homeostasis for clients who may be on other psychotropic medication, using other substances, or are exploring their recovery options (medical cards, etc.). Looking forward to more!!

Thank you. This is a very well explained video. I have been doing a lot of “research” on impacts of marijuana, withdrawal, relation to pain and inflammation, and adderall/adhd relation. You speak very clearly and in an easy to understand way that I very much appreciate.

Thank you creating a video on our amazing ECSs we all possess 💚 Learned about it about a decade ago but didn’t do well passing on the message due to being about 20ish years & not having proper resources. But better late than never for the truth to come out!!

I am 78 days sober from being a chronic smoker for 6 years below are the symptoms I feel. Week 1-3: swollen lymph nodes in armpit but overall felt great. Pink cloud effect, life was great! Week 4-6: (July 7) Intense tension headaches/migraines, chills, fatigue, anxiety and fear Week 7-10 Nightmares, TMJ, Intense Tension headaches (temples, forehead, eye pressure). Sub occipital muscles in neck where very tight. I never knew the lasting effects marijuana could have.

Very good video, thank you. I can definitely wow to the positive and systematic effects of CBD& CBG. I take a 50/50 solution and have never felt better! Everything is now how it should be and no other "herb" managed to achieve that.

10 days sober from cannabis. I’ve been an on and off heavy user since high school. I had a 3-5 years full sobriety stint in my late 20’s and again mid 30’s. In Canada when it became semi-legal (under pretence of health) until fully legal (anyone can buy it), I started to use again, first to cure insomnia, then it became a recreational social weekend activity, then it became a crux at work, then daily use, then back to weekend warrior, then making my own high concentrate edibles for nearly daily use, then back to weekend warrior. No matter how I put it or convinced myself that I was doing it in moderation, if I was being honest with myself, I had clinical use disorder until 10 days ago. Here are my withdrawal symptoms as of day 10: muscle aches, loss of motivation, insomnia and waking up multiple times a night, gnarly dreams, loss of appetite, hot flashes and profuse sweating, quick to anger and irritability.

I’d like to add I was a heavy recreational drug user in my 20’s: cocaine (at work and parties), ecstasy (at work and parties), and speed (weekend use and parties). I tried Percocet when I had a pain issue but I didn’t like it. I was a weekend warrior blackout alcohol user too. Marijuana withdrawal is real. I never believed it was a problem until I stopped.

Hi Dr, The friends and family I have in my life use cannabis to self medicate from the pain of their past, their upbringing, their trauma from past relationship and things that have happend in their life, like divorce or heartbreak. Their kids hurt from their parents using this drug because they become emotionally unavailable for them. They see their parents not being open to their needs and something being wrong with their parents responses and actions. Could you elaborate on how this will effect these children, when their parents don’t heal their pain and trauma, but just numb it instead? (On the expense of being high around their kids)

That is certainly an important topic that will be covered in future videos in the series

Id imagine the cost is similar to any other maladaptive coping technique employed by the parent’s. Depending on the damage done coping, with the use of medicine, is at least one coping mechanism that can have minimal negative consequences.

I second this request as so many people I know defend their long term addiction to pot because of their trauma or physical pain. I know how much of a fog it put me in when I was chronically smoking and hope more information on this topic would encourage others to stop self medicating and work towards true healing.

I disagree Cannabis works by activating CB1 receptors no other pharmaceutical, except THC binds on to the CB1receptor so there is minimal if any interaction between cannabis and and other pharmaceuticals
@DocSnipes
@DocSnipes Жыл бұрын
CBD binds to the CB2 receptor and receptor binding is only part of the picture. One of the biggest issues with CBD is that it is acted on by Cytochrome P450 which is the same enzymatic group that acts on most other pharmaceuticals. It is important to recognize that activation and interaction have to due with not only what receptors are activated, but what other resources are used to break it down.
@msbluesman
@msbluesman Жыл бұрын
Cannabinoids do not alter the cytochrome P450 enzyme system enough to alter any drug levels by scientific study. It is proven, however, that grapefruit juice does alter this system enough to change Coumadin levels. If cannabis compounds caused alterations and drug levels proven by scientific study, it would be all over the Internet, so I claim BS
@msbluesman
@msbluesman Жыл бұрын
Additionally, the fact that the cytochrome P4 50 enzyme system, Ashley degrades CBD does not mean it alters drug levels of any drug
