They don't explicitly say how they use EPQs on their webpages. They see it in context of the overall application. But having completed an EPQ will probably strengthen the application!

Hi! The universities which like having an EPQ tend to be the ones with a greater focus on research, e.g. Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial college London Hope this answers your question
