What is the Expression Assistant? - Expression Deep Dive Ep. 03

Hey, thank you for explaining this stuff in a basic way. I'm familiar with spreadsheet formulas, queries, etc, but I'm not a programmer and I've been having trouble finding out how to do more complex things that I'm able to do in spreadsheets. I'll be looking through your other videos to see what else you have that might help to clarify things for me.

@@AppSheetTraining At any given point I'm trying to figure out something new or different, but there aren't as many videos out there as there is for other google products. Now that Google owns this, that might change. You guys are well situated to be the early videos out there... Right now I'm trying to figure out why full names are showing up in table refs for something like Vendor ID in my app.

@@acarde Absolutely, that is the exact reason why we started this channel, the lack of quality teaching for AppSheet! I believe what you are seeing are called "labels". Though Appsheet will save the actual ID value of a ref, it will display the label to your users. This is to help your users have a better understanding of what they are looking at. Hi Guys, What I was looking for was examples on how to build expressions. I'd like to be able to have an idea and apply some kind of logical thinking to build an expression. For example, I want to filter a column by a condition and then filter that result by a further condition to get the data I want to use in a slice. I know this is probably very basic but I cant find a simple explanation of this. Hope you can help. love ya work. cheers
