For the Dev's. Can you PLEASE make the little notch on the compass more easily visible? Those of us that are older or wh don't have perfect vision really struggle seeing that TINY nearly invisible heading marker carrot thing.

An idea tossed around is a leather, rope, and stick hang glider. Usable off a mountain top or high cliff, possibly with some thermal air lifts to sustain across a valley. And can be packed up and carried.

I'd love to see Scouting/exploring multiple/many planets become a future mode for this game. Scan from orbit then drop down to explore and install bases for future colonists to follow. That's a whole era in my novel setting, "Ceres 2525" is set 500 years in the future, but in the near-future (21st century) we explore many planets, scouting them for future colonies from Earth. I'd love to see Icarus morph into that. Could easily be done with an "explore multiple planets" mode or mod. Ya'll write about this being a potential "platform" for building other games? Thats exactly what I'm talking about. But *you* could do this by building many planets. Go to a slightly procedural method of world/map building at your dev's workstation to help them build new maps quicker, maybe? They drop map tiles together and then smooth out the edges and custom-build their own planet map in a week, maybe? The best of them polish the rough maps others create and finish them for publishing. Get your story straight on the set of animals per biome actually making sense as if they came from earth together from an earth biome (imagine grabbing a logical set of animals from the Amazon rainforest) into an alien planet biome that looks right for them... except the ways the alien planet changes things. The "Amazon" biome is dry for a week then rains for a week then its flooded deep for a week, say? And then you have loads of meaningful new content people will return for, with loads of maps to explore... which equals extended play per player.

Just started playing Icarus in the last week and love it great video good to know the developers are still so involved in the game. Not just fixing bugs but bringing more to the game. I just play survival games and so many of the others just don't keep the game moving forward so great news look forward to the new stuff thank you.

ive played Conan exile, Valheim, and they are pretty cool in their ways. Started Icarus 3 weeks ago, and i cant stop. Its amazing in every way. Batteries would be rly cool, but 1 thing also would be cool and very usefull and thats some sort of teleport. I know there is a mod, but would be better in dlc form or patch. Any info on that? Also in the future maybe a full multiplayer. Cheers :)

For the Bestiary question. If you loaded up the game after the update and your Bestiary was 100% (apart from the fish) I guarantee you would feel let down.

what happened to having more of an alien like environment? what happened to the alien we saw in the trailer? why is that trailer taken down?

It seems "Open World" mode is kinda off in how its implimented. The nerfing of exotics and station visits...? It makes more sense to drop onto a planet, build up your tech and explore the place, run missions, visit the station in orbit. From there drop down onto other parts of the planet to run a mission to explore a side map. Then return to your home base. Or consider the space station your home base as you build a ground colony foothold down planetside...? It makes no sense why the exotics & space station are cut out of Open World. You're forcing people to port over characters from other play modes into their open world, save back and forth, and... its a mess. for what reason? To force a different game experience into this mode versus that? What do the players want? So much so they turrn to mods and mix-matching their saves?

That depends on how strong your pc is. It’s certainly more optimized but if your running a 8 year old pc or something similar it’s going to be tough.

GIB BATTERY and JETPACK. Love this game. It has gotten sooo much better, openbworld with missiosn is great. The world still feels dead and missing adventure liek derelic ships or buildings, woudl love to hunt artifacts or do archeology. SUPER looking forward to the taming / pet update.

They need to scale down the bestiary numbers needed to unlock percentage rewards for each animal. Having to grind out hundreds of kills on specific animals is insane just to get the slightest bit of lore, let alone perks

Awesome interview, thank you both for this look into the future of Icarus. I wish the developer would add some basic form of security to their files. The fact that the data is stored in a simple text file and can be editted in Notepad to instantly complete the Bestiary as well as give yourself Exotics takes the sense of accoplishment out of the game. It does not have to be super eloborate as cheaters will find a way around, but just something to foil the casual player. The developer's comment that they have no idea how many of an animal you have killed previously is an outright lie. There already existed in game achievements for killing animals. There is NO reason for the Bestiary to not start you at your already confirmed kill count. Also, why were all in game Achievements reset to 0. Logging in to see that I completed 500/500 Glass building items achievement and am at 0/1000 Glass building items is a joke, honestly the update should have at the very least put me at 500/1000 NOT 0.

icarus went the wrong way since prerelease. so much promise that was never delivered not even in part. hardcore survival game. It is one of most easy survival games out there if not the easiest. beside maybe first hour when u are lost. It has some potential, but goddamn they did not release new map still and seems like they will not for another year. It feels like u are in god mode in this game. one hitting most things even at endgame, or they are just slow. and if they fix all this it is a years to late. if not more. People dont come back to games that died.

Agreed. Not the come back Dean Hall had hoped for. I was so excited for the original premise and they kept so much from us right up until launch. Now it seems they are giving up on prospects all together in leu of OW missions. Hopefully they can make them fun and engaging. From the start they have been changing direction. First F2P then pay to play. Then they added Outposts. Then they delivered only half of the game originally offered. So much potential lost.
