I'm pretty sure that phi is the limit of the ratio of consecutive terms of ANY sequence of numbers that follows the rule: a(n) = a(n-2) + a(n-1). That always fascinated me much more than the particular cases of Fibonacci and Lucas numbers...
@TippingPointMath7 жыл бұрын
This is correct. If you start with any two non-zero integers and form the sequence by adding successive terms, the limit of the ratio will be phi.
@louistournas1207 жыл бұрын
I wrote a program to test it. It looks like it is true. Even if I put 2 and 3, it ends up closing in on phi. If I put 1 and 10, it ends up closing in on phi. 1 and 40, 35 and 40, etc. It always goes to phi. The picture that you have at 4:24 1 + 1/1 = 2/1 but you can write that as 1 + 2/2 = 2/1 1 + 3/3 = 2/1 1 + 4/4 = 2/1 ........

I feel there is a slight problem with this. the line a-b does it always describe the rectangle?thats question one. two is the a a square? if you put b in a the smaller part does the ratio fit? is it just visually deceptive? so to speak. I get the swirling rectangle idea. Ive tried to see the logic in it - a/b equals phi but ab divided by a im not sure.

For those who are here because you are taking algebra and know nothing about jojo: In part seven of a manga series called jojo’s bizarre adventure, there is an ability the main character learns called “spin” which utilizes the golden ratio. Which is used in part with the main character’s other ability called a “stand”, and all done so that this character can shoot his fingernails like bullets. It truly is *bizarre*

I like how most comments on this video are about JoJo, like everyone came here to learn about spin.

bruh why they got to overcomplicate art of all things. Why is this even a project!?

Art and maths are intertwined! Got from figure drawing tutorials to this, and although daunting in depth, it's fascinating, impressive and inspiring that humans, careful human minds, took notice of this phenomena and pinned it down into a workable concept. In any case, this did make my brain hurt though hahahaha.

My name is Yoshikage Kira. I’m 33 years old. My house is in the northeast section of Morioh, where all the villas are, and I am not married. I work as an employee for the Kame Yu department stores, and I get home every day by 8 PM at the latest. I don’t smoke, but I occasionally drink. I’m in bed by 11 PM, and make sure I get eight hours of sleep, no matter what. After having a glass of warm milk and doing about twenty minutes of stretches before going to bed, I usually have no problems sleeping until morning. Just like a baby, I wake up without any fatigue or stress in the morning. I was told there were no issues at my last check-up. I’m trying to explain that I’m a person who wishes to live a very quiet life. I take care not to trouble myself with any enemies, like winning and losing, that would cause me to lose sleep at night. That is how I deal with society, and I know that is what brings me happiness. Although, if I were to fight I wouldn’t lose to anyone.
