Mark 16:15 go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. that is what i consider to be the great commission. making disciples is a result of this verse.

Making disciples is way different than the function of most churches today (sadly)

Very few churches today actually fulfill the great commission. That's why the majority are in heresy and just plain suck!

So, I, as a believer, am able to baptize people?
@Lauren-vd4qe Жыл бұрын
You shd direct new believers to a Bible believing church (one that has scripture verses in every sermon and not women preachers and does not do halloween parties), to b baptised.
@revelationakagoldeneagle8045 Жыл бұрын
Based on Matthew 28:18-20, it would seem that any true believer has authority from God to baptize, even as he has the authority from God to evangelize and teach all that Christ commanded. ▶️ Refer to GotQuestions: "Who is permitted to baptize/perform baptisms?" I hope this helps...
When I was baptized, the church I wanted to be baptized by was taking too long to arrange it, so I was baptized by a friend in a lake with only a few witnesses. Ideally, baptism should be very soon after one gets saved, within an hour, if possible. But I also understand some wanting certain people in their lives to witness it.

This guy is a Calvinist. I wonder how he reconciles the Great Commission with his Calvinist views.

Humor me a bit. What needs to be reconciled?

Everyone who knows the bible well and believes it is a Calvinist. It's reconciled by the fact that the Lord commands it we do it even though He already elected the saved since He has always known everything.
@oldtimer6528 Жыл бұрын
@@BENJAMINJAMESSMITH2000 no, you are saved through grace alone by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ and what His blood did for you.

@@BENJAMINJAMESSMITH2000 Quite the opposite, they have to be saved to be baptized.

When Jesus was on earth, he gave his followers a two-fold commission. First, he told them to PREACH the good news of the Kingdom, and he showed them how to go about it. (Luke 8:1) He also foretold the extent of their preaching activity, telling them that his followers would give “a witness to all the nations.” (Matthew 24:14; Acts 1:8) The second part of the commission that Jesus gave to his followers was to TEACH potential disciples to observe all the things he had commanded. This preaching and teaching work was not confined to the first century. Jesus indicated that this vital work would continue even down to our day, “until the conclusion of the system of things.” (Matthew 28:18-20) Lastly, Jesus clearly indicated that ALL his disciples are expected to help others learn about Jehovah God!

@@BENJAMINJAMESSMITH2000 It's not a "Damned if you don't" type of thing but it is still an important aspect when you're outwardly expressing your faith in Jesus.

To whom? The answer found in mark 16 the completion of matthew 28. In short only to the jews at that time and for the jews the gospel of the kingdom.. it is not for the gentiles. The gospel for today is the gospel of 1 CORINTHIANS 15. AND 2 CORINTHIANS 5. WHO INITIALIZED THE PROPAGATION OF YHIS GOSPEL? THE APOSTLE PAUL.
