Very interesting viewpoint. You have to know the game you’re playing and the rules associated. Finite games have fixed rules, time frames, objectives, etc. Infinite games have changeable rules, objectives, etc. Life is an infinite game. Business is an infinite game, with finite games within it. Building products, winning customers, for example, are finite, but then you have to deliver products or continue to support customers, those are infinite games. Not knowing the game you’re playing can stifle trust, cooperation and innovation with your team and your customers.
