What Is The Key To Writing A Screenplay?

I do listen to the characters first and based on what the characters tell me I create my outline and still get enough surprises along the way. It's not as rigid that way. I have a method acting background and turned into a method writer. Characters and their true voices come first, outline or not. I used to be a pantser and finished four feature scripts that way. However, outlining was a game-changer for me and it's always subject to change.

Whoever was the DP whilst interviewing David Magee should be sacked. The shaking, bad composition and poor lighting made it hard to watch and even more difficult to listen to.

Weird, I had zero issues with this. I was listening to what these professionals were teaching.

Please don't cut the heads off in close ups. It's tacky and looks like barf. Questionable off angle camera angles. Just pick a nice angle and stick to it. If the other shot is not dramatically different it looks bad and like a jump cut. Trashy. Have respect for the audience and the people being interviewed.
