Anyway, low score challenge. This was torture. I know it seems cheap to use savestates but seriously this stuff is annoying. If you didn't have to wait 8 minutes to do a frame perfect jump, I wouldn't have used them. But that's just stupid.
This is my longest challenge video to date. SMG2 min transformations was technically longer but a lot of it was uncut footage showing clears of the stars. I think I'll definitely do some low score stuff again in the future but hopefully in an easier game, haha.
As for why I censored the score, it would just get confusing if I cut to old footage where I have a lower score. I feel having the current total on screen at all times is much easier to digest.
I was talking to Sleeve Gaming and we do think there's a slight chance that the score could go down a bit more in the ghost house. If you can somehow get a star over there and kill one of the boos, it would screw up the flagpole's increasing point chain. But god knows how we'd get a star there.

Regarding the last 2 bosses, I'm not sure why that you cannot end it with 0 on the clock but my guess is that those particular bosses use a special boss transition to allow a cutscene to play afterward. Because of that, the timer will just kill you when it reaches 0.

The answer to the question is the following: You can go to the red toad house (and if you want, check the pattern by going row by row and looking up that pattern) and get a propeller mushroom (No mini mushrooms for reasons he explains later) and do the momentum glitch and then use the propeller to get up to the top of the flagpole.

Bosses doesn't give 4000 points, they first give 2000, then 2000, then 4000, totaling 8000, and you would have to defeat 2 bosses, so it isn't worth it.

(not so) Fun Fact! If you kill an enemy with a fire flower on 5-4 (the boat level) it will not only drop a Coin but the Coin will count as an enemy! which is stupid...
