That's smart how you experiment with the emergence. Can't wait to see how it turns out!

It has been a crazy spring. With the low humidity, it's almost like desert climate where it gets hot during the day and can go below freezing at night. We have rain in the forecast for Sunday. I'll believe it when I see it. Thank you for the video. It's always nice to see an update from you. Please stay safe, and God bless.

I live in Southeast Kentucky, it’s been the coldest June I can ever remember! My gardens have just sat there on idle. It’s been cold and rainy the last week, but it doesn’t rain enough to soak the ground. It’s definitely a weird spring!

Sounds like it’s been strange everywhere this year

It’s dry here to in NE Kansas. Last rain we had was 1/4 inch about a week ago and you couldn’t tell it rained.

Yeah when it gets like this even a good rain can disappear in a few days

I’m afraid Cali took all the rain this year. It rained so much that our years long drought is essentially gone.

So, what do you do in the areas with the frost damage. It doesn't look as if those plants will be able to recover. Is it a big enough area to address? Far from being an expert, I wouldn't think there is a corn hybrid you could plant now that would mature in time in Iowa. I've know many farmers to put in beans if a corn crop fails early, just to get some return, but that would seem complicated based on those rows. It's crazy you had to deal with any sort of frost damage in June. It's even crazier it's been that dry for that long this time of year! Hope you get some real rain soon.

Hopefully it will just come out of this on its own. It looks like it’s going to grow new leaves out the top

Where are you located? I'm in SW Indiana. Our corn is 4-5 ft tall and dark green but definitely needs a rain

We are in eastern Iowa. Been missing all the good rains for quite a while here.

I would send you some of our rain from Oklahoma, but it's making up for some drought years.

Will the corn that got frost bit come back on it’s own?
@citizensnips475 Жыл бұрын
Yeah so long as the growing point wasn't frozen, you should get new, healthy leaves poking out of the top in a few days. The plant will be stunted and behind anything not damaged in the development cycle, but you should a crop.

oh man, Im hoping you get rain, that corn looks tired.

Just another thought you can always put another flag of a different color an the beginning of the rows where you are doing the tests
@dodgebrothersfarmandranch9206 Жыл бұрын
Funny thing is they actually sent me a marker flag to put by the edge of the field 😂😂

You need a hand held gps, then you can plot where you put the flags and go back anytime you want

Praying the Good Lord sends you some of this 4 days straight of million dollar rain he’s blessed us with. We were awful dry for a few weeks. Good for getting in the hay but not the crops.
