I always thought buddhism was always about trying to detach ourselves from the world like taoism.this is very interesting and weird that I haven't heard this before

In both Buddhism and Taoism detachment doesn’t mean denial or ‘not engage with’. It means ‘do not rely on’ those external, wordling experiences for understanding reality, or the experience peace and contentment. For we know they are 3 things…impermanent, unsatisfactory (suffering) and not-self. Look up these 3 factors in the 4 Noble Truths and it will make more sense. May you always be at peace. 🙏🏽

Question what is the best way of living life is it the middle way and if it is what makes it special from all the other ways
@SenseiAlexKakuyo

The Lotus Sutra tells us that all Dharmas are empty, so in a sense it's not special from other ways are living. That being said, we have 2,600 years of data; showing us that the middle helps to end suffering for ourselves and others I like the middle-way because it strikes a balance between the spiritual understanding of the absolute and the practical needs of the conventional.

How do we find the middle way in sex if we are single for multiple years? I mean.. I have kept myself from intercourse for 3 years, but I do have the need to feel desired and held and touched. At the moment I have tried to meet this desire by having sleepovers with male friends, kissing and some intimate touch, bit I wonder if that would be considered the middle way...

How did the buddha find the middle path
@SenseiAlexKakuyo

He first lived the two extremes of hedonism and asceticism. Then he dropped into deep meditation under the Bodhi tree and found the middle path.

I have heard that Buddha found it when he was listening to sitar( plucked stringed instrument) instructor lecturing his disciple. There instructor said that if you pull the sitar string too much sitar does not play proper tune, and if you loosen the string it won't play. you can replace of sitar as modern day guitar. So same thing holds with life. Don't run after things and don't run away from things.
