The level of intricacy and functionality to pedals nowadays wow. Had a digitech pedal station that let you modify amp and pedal styles, with loop/tuner as well. That tech is over 15 years old now though lol this is the next chapter. The Les Paul player seems really stoked on these soundscapes! Love the channel. You guys do the product justice on each thorough review. I will continue to watch

Thank you very much Jay…yeah the amount of tech in these pedals is pretty amazing!!

Awesome video! I just got my dwarf a week ago, and it's so much fun to dive in to all the possibilities. One thing I would really love to see, is an in depth video on the CV plugins and how they all work, what possibilities we have with them etc. :)

This is really a super fun, awesome, happy time pedal. Pretty much everything you could ever need...literally.

It’s super powerful…I used the older pedal the ‘Mod Duo’ a LOT a few years back…this has a much more powerful CPU so it can handle even more stuff…and all the new Modular/CV controls make it literally limitless in what you can do with it!!! Thanks Randy!!

One fun thing to try, would be to use one of their plugins that aims to simulate popular real-life amps and A/B it against a real thing (using a load box and the same IR). Or if you don't have the access to any of the real amp equivalents or the required setup, at the very least A/B it against the same amps in Amplitube. Given the niche popularity of MOD products, there's little hope for a similar A/B comparison from other channels.

That’s a good idea…thank you Lynx33PL

@@TSFAHTPS I used to own the Dwarf but I'm primarily a guitar player, and while it offered more options than a dedicated guitar multi-fx unit, and while I was able to get decent low gain tones out of it, I thought it was lacking a bit in the guitar-department. I'm wondering if you'll have better luck with it.

Nice! If you could get into MIDI and MIDI tools on the Dwarf. Sending MIDI program changes to a MIDI synth for example.

Thanks! Can you share the best way to plug an expression pedal in the mod dwarf? Usb adapter, midi...?

Great Video! can't wait to see how you do the midi connection. I plan to use mine with the Behringer FCB1010 foot controller.

The Control-Chain port is not for "linking multiple devices together", but a way to extend the number of analog controls using a chain of devices that provide these and connect to different plugin parameters. (this gives much higher precision and customization than using pure MIDI which is only 128 values for a parameter)

Yeah. This is a fascinating device. But people clearly have problems trying to cover an entire sound processing computer designed to go on the floor. You have to tackle different uses for it, I reckon - one at a time. I'd be interested to know if you can set it up to process guitar and vocals on the different channels. I'd like to know if it has (or will have) a module for running reverb IRs - since you'd expect it to have sufficient horsepower. Yeah. How good is it as an effects unit for guitar? Can you get really tasty classic guitar and effects sound out of it? I'd also like to see something playing to its strengths showing unique sounds you can get by using various oscillators and randomisers on said classic effects, or triggering signal generators with the guitar.
@TSFAHTPS2 жыл бұрын
I’m hoping they will eventually make it compatible with reverb IRs and hopefully compatible with AUv3 and/or VST plugins! There are some great ideas in your comment…I’ll try to answer some of them in future videos!!
@TheBaconWizard2 жыл бұрын
You absolutely CAN set it up to process guitar and voice on different channels.

No send - return ? That is a very strong limitation for guitarists, that want to incorporate it to their existing rig...

In regards to future videos of the Mod Dwarf, it would be nice and beneficial if you go into detail about setups, snapshots, etc etc. The Mod Dwarf videos that are out now are great in telling you what you can do but terrible in showing you how to do. For example if you put a toggle switch or a switch box utility in your pedal chain, how do you get it to switch when you need it? Are there different ways to switch? Those kinds of details are not readily accessible!
@TSFAHTPS2 жыл бұрын
Those are great ideas…I’ll make sure to incorporate those in future videos!! Thanks Gene

Could you check how is working trying 2 guitars or 1 bass and 1 guitar at the same time?
@TSFAHTPS2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely…I am already planning on making a video like that…where we set it up for two guitarists or a bass and a guitar with one or possibly even two midi controllers. Also Guitar and Vocal effects at once…Guitar/Bass & Keys…lots of that kinda stuff

I'm considering picking up either one of these or a hx stomp. I'm leaning towards one of these since I also play keys and like the idea of turning my guitar into a eurorack synth however I have a question regarding this units flexibility. I've seen from demo videos and reviews that its perfect for clean, ambient stuff with loads of modulation+reverb and i've also seen some basic rigs with fuzz but is this thing capable of really high-gain modern metal / death metal type tones? I would normally assume so but I haven't seen anything close to a metal tone in any demonstrations so its just making me wonder if it has the capability or the plugin support to do so.

Does it support AUv3 or VST? Or are you locked in to the effects MOD supplies?
@TSFAHTPS2 жыл бұрын
No it doesn’t…as far as I know anyways…it’s Linux based…but it’s an open source system so there is always new stuff being added! I’m hoping there will eventually be a way to load AUv3 or VST onto it…that would make it an even more powerful tool!!
@marcelchaloupka2 жыл бұрын
@@TSFAHTPS interesting that it's Linux based. Unfortunately, most of these systems are golden cages. without VST or AUv3 support, I think the xtone is a better option that way you can use your phone or tablet with something like AUM and do whatever you want.
