What is the most replayable Assassin's Creed game?

Today we're ranking the top AC games based on re-playability. There's lots to talk about before the release of Assassin's Creed Red. My ranking has lots of controversial opinions so feel free to tell me yours. Everything from Ezio to Eivor is part of this beloved series of ours and I really believe that there's no bad game in the series, so I'm really interested to hear what others think. It really is discount black flag but the story to it needs to be witnessed especially if your a fan of AC given it connects black flag to unity and ac3 too. Nice little story to connect everything together and not too long to overstay its welcome

I totally agree with Odyssey, the replayability and the beautiful greek setting, and I love Kassandra as a character, she is chill and cool and strong, great vibes. I'm very hyped for AC Red, because is the successor of Odyssey, made by the same team, Quebec, and probably with the same filosophy, good long rpg in a beautiful world and cool protagonists

Assassin's creed one , I still play it till now even after I finished all the other and after all those years still a great game, the nostalgia and the first feeling still there. 3:06 Unity really ?????? it is the one best gameplay in the whole series especially now with the fixes and mods

@@Ganion Same! Whenever I replay a game, my opinion changes! My favourite would be Black flag, followed by unity and syndicate. Currently replaying ac1 so that would be top 5 material as well! Last but not least I really enjoy playing as haytam!

As an OG Assassin's Creed fan, Odyssey is the opposite of everything I want from an AC game. Choosing your character and having multiple endings are direct contradictions to the entire premise of the series.

Odyssey is by far my favorite ac game yea it get boring sometimes but cause of grind but man its fun and in my opinion I like the story my favorite side quest was the 100 hand ouuu it was something different and unique I didn’t expect to do that type of mission an it was connected to the cult of kosmos

It's the third i play unity already, and how is syndicate's parkour mole polished? Seems like you don't know what you're since Syndicate's is too laged and even more automated than unity, you can't even use the jump button. Not saying that London is not good for parkour. Saying syndicate's parkour is better than unity is mindless.

Unity is one of the biggest disappointments I have ever encountered in my 17 year old gaming experience. I still enjoyed the game, but not nearly as much as I thought I would before I played it. Easily the most inconsistent game in the entire franchise (I have played every entry in the series except Identity), and by far the AC game with the most horrific input lag. Syndicate however completely salvaged my experience with the Helix Saga before moving onto the RPG games, I loved the setting of Syndicate (for years I was saying that a modern AC game would be phenomenal and Syndicate is a clear proof of that), protagonists are good, the WW1 segment as well as Jack the Ripper DLC are both brilliant. Combat, amazing, stealth, perfect, and it fixed my biggest complaint about the stealth system in Unity, which is a competent enemy tagging system. In Unity your area perception and guard tracking is some of the worst I have seen in a modern era stealth game. Tagged enemies in Syndicate stay tagged which encourages you to play Syndicate quickly and with more precision. Even though I don’t understand people who prefer Unity over Syndicate, I still respect their choice, since there are also people who don’t value objective technical improvements which is also completely fine.

You reminded me of something I forgot to mention in the video when it comes to stealth. the Eagle vision is hands down the best one in the series. They cleaned it up so much and it just looks and feels so much better to use. And you got me more excited to play the Ripper dlc, still didn't get the chance to play it since I'm replaying Mirage right now but it's for sure on my list

I can replay AC1-Origins. Replaying Odyssey and Valhalla is just pure hell with the fetch quests, tho Valhalla isn’t as bad as Odyssey. Haven’t done new game plus on Mirage so I can’t say.

Fair point, I enjoy Odyssey's fetch quests much more then Valhalla's puzzels where I have to break locks or find a key to get into a building. It all comes down to personal preference.

I love odyssey! These old school gamers holding on to the original ac games don’t get it imo! This is what a video game should be! Hours and hours of fun, history, making builds etc. I wish Ubisoft would have changed the name starting with Orgins so “purest couldn’t complain about it not being like the first games. I like valhalla, but just for the vikings and middle ages and i don't like too much ancient greece, but it's crazy how Odyssey, a game 2 years older than valhalla is way better in everything, even the graphics, at least for ps4 version...

Agreed, in my opinion the biggest problem with Valhalla is the setting. Viking England is leagues behind Spartan Athenian/Greece

Damn. Unity is actually the one I play the most lol. Last year it was my second most played game of 2023 (right behind RDR2) 😂 And also Origins and Odyssey (mainly because of those bloated DLCs that take extra 30 hours)

I just love Unity’s story overall, especially Arno.. and Elise too.. taking pictures of Paris and such. Recently i finished reading Unity book, so I was like… why the heck not to get an Arno’s POV reminded a just roam around Paris again after half a year 😁

I like the story and characters in Odyssey but I could only get 10 hours into it because I really don't like the gameplay. Character control feels so loose, like a lady of the night on sunday morning. I wanted to see more story, it's a shame i couldn't get on with the rest.

There's so much more to AC1 than most people realise. Best parkour system, best combat, story hidden in every crevice. Seriously watch the video on AC1 combat by DaBeanieBoi. You will want to replay the game.

I think enjoying the story again is the best replay value, instead of getting a different ending or having a different build etc. Hence i'd argue that all the linear games have more replay value than newer rpg games

I agree to a point. If you put all the replay value responsibility on the story and then the game has a bad story you’re just kinda fucked On the other hand if there is for example a good and a bad ending and you don’t like how the story turns out when you play it, you can go for the other ending

AC 1 isn't that replayable, only for nostalgia's sake because there is nothing to gain for doing things differently. It's a linear game with little else to do than the story. Gathering all the flags is very unsatisfying because it won't give you ANYTHING. Believe me, I did it xD AC 2 is pretty much the same as AC 1 in terms of replayability, but there is far more to do here. However, last time I played it was a few years ago and I did a 100% run, so all collectibles - flags, feathers etc. everything done. I no longer feel the need to ever play the game again, though it was one of the best games of my teenhood. Honestly the only games I've been replaying is Black Flag, Unity and Odyssey. I've got over 550 hours in Odyssey because I keep coming back and doing another 100% run xD The least replayable one is Valhalla. Because it's ridiculously long AND has no NG+. Also got bored 3/4 of the game and left it on the shelf. Graphically impressive though. Mirage is too unmemorable to replay, doesn't feel like a really good story.

Not to spoil the dlc but I can say it’s important if you want closure on the original ending. I love unity with a passion but as I say, AC is like James Bond.. everyone has their favorite and no one is wrong.

I completely agree with Unity being a letdown. So many people prop the game of this platform as the ultimate AC experience. It's an incredibly fun game with a brilliant world. It's not perfect, and the parkour doesn't always work, but the game is fun to play. Odyssey on the other hand, being the black sheep of the franchise is just as incredible if not better overall. Some fans can hate it all they want. Odyssey doesn't have the best story, or the best combat. Unity doesn't either and the customization options in Unity are much worse imo. Odyssey has a beautiful world, so many cool weapons and outfits, and even with the bad writing, Alexios is still an amazing character. There are some great side characters like Barnabas and Herotodos. The different ways to play the game build off Origins which is a masterpiece. I love Bayek to death, but Odyssey is a much different game with better replayability. I'm currently going through the game to max all skills including mastery and get all the different legendary Isu weapons. It explores the AC universe in a different way, giving us a proto-assassin that quite honestly is nice. The book also greatly improves the story even though Kassandra is the protagonist they decided on. Both protagonists have their strengths and the game works. A great UI, cool abilities, beautiful setting, and a badass hero. All I need to replay a fun game. Its more replayable than the Witcher III for me. Some fans just hate it too much. I don't mind if they don't like it, but it is far from a terrible game and it's not even bad for an AC game.

I agree with basically everything you said! I’m playing it for the first time now on PC and it looks even better than I am used to. Such a wonderful game to chill with and enjoy my free time, especially compared to stressing over finishing the current COD battle pass and stuff like that. I play as Kassandra cause I think she’s honestly hilarious with her delivery but I’ll give Alexios a shot next time. Do you think the book is worth buying? I never even realized they made a book to add to the story

It condenses the story, gives you the plot, the main points in the game, and honestly, if the game had no dialogue options, stuck with the book narrative, it'd probably be a 10/10. Just want my boy Alexios as canon though. The book is also canon so if you want to know what really happens, there's that. I can't play CoD as of now. I don't want to get into that grind.

I played A.C ODYSSEY 3000hours (finished 6 times)-and it's not long as the main story is only 50 hours long...also ORIGINS is good but VALHALLA I knew was weak before I bought it...MIRAGE I didn't buy after checking youtube and the old A.C ones I didn't like because I played them all...blackflag was good...but ODYSSEY best game eveeer made...

Back in the day it was the original AC. Then AC 2 and AC Brotherhood. Now. it's Origins and my favorite is Odyssey. I absolutely dislike Valhalla and i can't stand Basim, so I never bought Mirage and never will.

@@Ganion That is true. I love big open world Action/Adventure games and i do not hate Valhalla, i just don't like it. Some ARC's are just too long and boring and the female voice acting is horrible amongst other things. I really hope that Ubisoft will keep this new approach, but i fear that there has been so many complaints that Ubisoft will try to return to the original concept in future games. That would be a shame imho.

But the decision is yours. (Edit) And Shay became my favorite character in all the series, before that I liked Edward

weirdly enough, i didnt enjoy odyssey at all, i found it too long and too boring, and as you said, its not really a true ac game. i do love the world but honestly it just has too much but everything is too shallow. it probably does have the most reply value because it has a lot of stuff to do, but that imo doesnt mean its enjoyable stuff.

That’s the beauty of gaming at the end of the day, some people value replayability the most and others value graphics or story or whatever it is. Plus I probably enjoyed Odyssey so much because I loved Kassandra’s voice acting and the Greek world they built for the game

@@Ganion yeah the world was so nice, if only they focused on the quests some more it would have been such a great game. its a shame ubisoft skipped on this. they followed the witcher but they missed the most important part, the writing and the stories.

The game offers one of the best stories in the series .. I don't like to comment about Side quest but AC Odyssey is the most Rated game from the last 8 AC games even Origins 👍

I just completed a 100% Valhalla playthrough with all DLC on ps5 instead of ps4 it took over 200 hours even knowing everything, skipping videos etc. did also do the history game thing too so take off 10 hours for only gameplay.

Just some points I have: - Odyssey for me has the same replay value as Valhalla. Hack & slash and mind-numbing combat, repetitive gameplay loop and quests with terrible RPG mechanics that don't have any effect on your character or the world around you, and a mediocre story. Quantity does not equal quality. There's a lot of stuff, but you can't distinguish one area or enemy from another. Its like how Starfield made 1000 planets but the gameplay on each planet is the same regardless of where you go. - Syndicate is just Unity but worse. Also, the grapple mechanic is a half-baked gimmick that just highlights the poor design of the city in terms of parkour. - AC1 has probably one the best stories and characters in the series. Probably some of the best writing in the series and the some of the best modern-day to Animus connected stories in the series(Especially that cliffhanger at the end). The gameplay loop is repetitive but the parkour is surprisingly more complex than parkour from Unity to Mirage. It gives players total control and doesn't lock you into animations that can't be canceled or hand-hold you by not allowing you to make mistakes. ✌

- honestly for me Odyssey just feels soooo much better than Valhalla in so many ways even if it is just another hack and slash game. Something about Valhalla's gameplay just feels so washed out - I can agree on the city design thing but come on man! you're telling me that you don't see how much smoother Syndicate feels? even if it is half baked but at least it feels better to play for me - AC1 and the Ezio games have hands down the best parkour in the series, crazy how we got the best version from the start and 10 games later we're still striving to get back to that high quality
