I thought the head shot was necessary because the fighters were often amped up on drugs so shots to the body were often ineffective.

The third tap is supposed to be a deciding tap, not an immediate follow-up from the first two. You double tap the opponent first, then assess to see if they are still a threat, and do your follow-up on the third one. Therefore there must be a pause between 2nd and 3rd tap. Otherwise it's not a Mozambique, it's just a triple tap.
@yrsued3 жыл бұрын
Well, because you know so much, you might want to go to Gunsite and tell them that what Mike Rousseau told Jeff Cooper is Bullshit and all that Gunsite has been teaching since the mid 70's is Bullshit because you say so!! After all, you know more than those who teach it, right?
@Aphabet213 жыл бұрын
Well the instructor actually describes the difference between a Mozambique and a failure to stop drill. And that was the discerning factor. Could you at least watch the video before commenting? And BTW, there was a pause between the second and third tap. The rounds didn’t come out simultaneously. Also, who dictates the length of the pause? An armchair quarterback such as yourself?

Well, Honestly, that doesn't make much tactical sense.. Why engage the hard shot first and waste time when someone is coming at you. It's called a Failure drill for a reason, if the first two fail, you do the third hard shot

I have to disagree!! It is not much help if you shoot fast and you can't hit shit!! This is good on Competition like USPSA or IPSC, not in a defense situation. Remember, in competition, you get a miss, in the real world, every miss has your name on it!! Rule #4!!
