i'm proud of my country when it comes to guns, shotguns expecially. i think we italians are the kings of shotguns, you have no idea how big the shotgun culture is here. aside from benelli, beretta, franchi, breda, there are hundreds of small workshops where artisans just craft exquisite shotguns for all the needs and all the pockets. and you can get an used beretta a300 for as cheap as 50 bucks and it will run no problems and if it dosen't, beretta will still fix it for cheap.

I love my A300 Patrol. With pro lifter and aluminum upgraded end cap and barrel clamp. The pro lifter is awesome. No downside only upside.

@@manuelsanchez5028 yessir and it works perfectly! The shell just holds the lifter down and when you shoot it just takes the ghosted shell and doesnt release one from the tube until the next shot, if that makes sense. Then normal ops after that, with the lifter staying up as normal.

Beretta is brillaint. They were able to fill in the gap with the A300! While not as slick or as fast as the 1301, it gets the job done and is reliable with all kinds of ammo! All you can ask for a combat shotgun! If you have the means..grab the 1301 if you feel if you want the absolute best!

I've shot both, have a tricked out 1301. Both are fantastic but if you can afford the 1301 its definitely worth the extra cost. You can easily tell the difference in recoil back to back.

I pick mine up next week in FDE. Was considering the A300 patrol, then decided on the 1301, then couldn’t choose between the regular stock and the pistol grip, then I got an email about the mod2. Ordered it Thursday, got the call Friday it’s in. I’m super stoked.

Got mine after I saw your first review at Thunder Ranch. I added the other goods, including the pro lifter. I got mine for under $1000. I’m a still a happy camper and I wouldn’t trade it. I love that thing. It ran flawlessly at a 4 day shotgun coarse at Front Sight.

They really shoulda put a side sling loop on the stock. Makes no sense to have it on the bottom on a tactical shotgun. The only reason I went with the pistol grip stock was because of the side sling loop.

I have a 1301 comp pro that I got as soon as it came out several years back. Took forever to find it and get it shipped from California of all places. I LOVE it! Then the thunder ranch video came out and I’ve been wrestling with getting the tactical for a while now.

I've owned quite a few shotguns and I have to admit that my Langdon Tactical 1301 gen 2 is a favorite. I was really impressed. This is my first Tactical shotgun and it's really fun to shoot. I'm planning on taking a shotgun class with it! Great gun so don't make me feel like I need to get the new one!

James, you missed the mag tube mod. Beretta has molded indentations in the mag tube extension so the front barrel clamp stays in place . The front barrel clamp can not longer slide forward off the gun.

I have a Beretta FP 1201 that I got over thirty years ago, new. It still functions flawlessly. I keep it clean. Like AC/DC says, she kept her motor clean and was the best damn woman I have ever seen. I own several Beretta shotguns, fem back in the day to the present, including an ONYX over and under, an A300 sporting shotgun and a Benelli M4. I still like my FP 1201.

Nice to see they updated the pro-lifter. It should be standard on the 1301 and the A300, hopefully the A300 sees the same treatment. They should have updated the clamp to aluminum though.

No one mentions it but a Mossberg 930 can be had for $500. It ghosts loads 9 rounds total. They used to be 399.

Well, let me be a devil's advocate and everyone can take my opinion for whatever it's worth to them. I've had an early 930, an early 940 Tactical, and the A300 patrol. The 930 worked, but it was a bird gun. It started to sound like a rattle trap abot 1k rounds in and i got nervous and Sold it to fund an over under. The 940 was a train wreck and Mossberg customer support was less than understanding. The only gun that has been trouble free thus far is the A300. Just the experience of one guy who has owned and shot them all. I wouldn't trust the Mossberg. It's a roll of the dice and customer support will leave you hanging in the end.

Have the A300UP and the 1301. Upgraded the 1301 to a Magpul Zhukov handguard. Prefer it over the A300UP handguard but the A300UP one isn’t bad.

Beretta really nailed this set of shotguns I couldn't part with either of them and will definitely have to add this one. The 1301 is the best in catagory. The A300 Ultima Patrol is the undisputed price to performance King. "90% of the gun fro 60% of the price" was the most accurate way I have heard it put.

i got the gen 2 1301 from place on east coast, live middle od US. got the green one that had slip by them on price increase, $1200 when they were $1500 or $1600 everywhere else. guy was nice enough to sell at price on their web site instead of making excuses and rasing price. as far as mod II i think if u got a gen II 1301 really no need to drop more $$$$. its like iphones and those thag get the knewest just to say they have new one. but thats just me have this auto loader and mossberg pump with add ons its all i need

The kick-off, at least the basic description you gave it, sounds kind of like the old Heart Recoil Reducers. They were metal cylinders, sealed tight, that contained a mercury solution and ball bearings. The idea being the inertial resistance in the fluid from the bearings would offset a good percentage of felt recoil. Never tried one, but I heard they worked well. You had to either get one of their stocks or have your shotgun stock bored out to accept the tube.

If they were going to borrow the A300's good points, why didn't they make the loading port similar? That was by far Reeves' favorite feature on it. But making the Mod2 compatible with the Kick-off stocks was my favorite change. When you are cranking out high brass 00 Buck or Slugs quickly in a tactical situation, being able to control that recoil better and keep the gun on target seems like it would be a huge plus.

I love the new 1301 overall. But for a $1600 shotty I would expect a better end cap and clamp than the same crappy ones that came on my A300 Patrol, which was promptly replaced by the far superior GG&G Aluminum versions. But its only like $80-90 and totally worth it. Not a deal breaker for such a superb shotgun IMHO. But it does seem like the only difference now for that much more money is the B-LINK system and rotating bolt.

Could ya’ll possibly do a comparison running the regular stock vs the stock/pistol grip combo? Ideally with the 1301s (because I love beretta). But just in general the difference running those two stock types in a tactical/defensive application. Is one easy to load quickly? (I would imagine the regular stock is easier to load) Is one more intuitive to point? Is one easier to maneuver indoors? Etc. Can’t find a single half way decent video on the topic with any shotgun, and I know ya’ll will do it right.

i decided to go the m4 route and was able to pick up a L.E. model which i have done some mods too and love that shotgun. i can’t help being envious of watching these 1301 videos and kinda wishing i picked up a early 1301 instead😂😂
