Can you stop it from recording your calls? My orange dot is always present when making or receiving calls. Can you erase the recording? Can you stop the videos? I One more question that I have gotten multiple answers for and don’t know what to believe. If you change it past 100%, for example, at a certain point in the charging cycle, will it stop charging because the 12 pro max recognizes that it is already fully charged? I have heard a lot of different answers from Apple my carrier, YT and online. Could you please answer these questions? I have looked everywhere. Thank you!

I just value my privacy on personal matters like I feel everybody does. I changed from Android to iPhone because the CEO, after Steve Jobs passed away 😢, said on 60 Minutes that Apple valued privacy). I appreciate the orange dot for the transparency.

I found out the other day on IPhones that if your being investigated for a crime you can type in *#21# like your dialing a phone number and a bunch of items will pop up and say Active or In-Active. If any say Active get rid of your phone, get a new one and change your number.

If you think this is the only time anyone is listening to you, you don’t know how your phone *really* works. They gave us this icon to make us feel more secure in knowing our mic isn’t when we don’t want it to be to give us a false sense of security that we’re not being spied on all the time.

The orange dot was on my phone a week ago. I swiped up the control panel. It said unknown beside the dot. Checked every app. No luck. Apple support says unauthorized third party is using an app and accessing my microphone I turned my phone off then back on and the orange dot was off. Now I will bring watching for when it’s on.

Not being able to disable the dots is not bad news, it’s necessary. There would be no point having the alerts if you (or the app using the mic or camera) could turn off the notification.

It surely doesn’t matter if the dots are there? We turn the camera on or start the microphone being used so it’s driven by us. If either dot came on when not using these then we should worry BUT if someone was prying they’d make sure the dots didn’t appear.

I don’t understand why anybody would want to turn these crucial and important notifications off. personally I think it’s excellent that Apple didn’t provide any option to turn them off. If they did it would become a vulnerability since it could potentially make it even easier for a hacker or malicious app to turn it off without the user even knowing.

What kind of iPhone are you using? It appears that you are displaying the time in the notch. Also, how do you get the battery percentage to display and why are the wireless and cellular data indicators in the upper left corner. My iphone 12 pro just has a battery bar status, wireless and cellular data in the right hand corner and the time in the left corner.

I'm probably not the only one who has said this but if you turn off the dots that you have no way to know if something isn't using your camera or microphone. It would've been nice if they told us what it was for but who needs a change log with your update. the design seems fairly intuitive and yet I was questioning what it was every time I've seen it. It's a notification putting you in control of what is using your camera and microphone. Nice simple video too. and this is the second one I've watched on the subject because I forgot what the first one said.

I have a yellow dot, and a Green dot, but orange is never seen -ever. I suspect Apple engineers and bloggers have zero understanding of English, 9r have very very poor colour vision. My colour vision is excellent. Note orange is a mix of yellow, and red. You can check your colour vision, because if you switch airplane mode on, the background is orange, and is distinctly redder than the yellow microphone indicator dot.

A moveable square with a grayish circle has suddenly appeared on my iPad screen. If I touch it a larger black square appears it’s a series of 6 icons. Clockwise, beginning at 12 o’clock,Notification Center, Device, Control Center, Home, Siri, and Custom. The smaller square is so annoying, and if accidentally touched the larger square pops up.
