This was very helpful. I'm getting ready to contract with with a container carrier in Baltimore. They offer zero training, and so thank you for this video. I did get a tip about how I have to create my own appointments using the web portal. I think I have that down packed. I believe it'll be a lot of live loads for me. So what I want to know is, After dropping off a load at a warehouse, do you have to return your empty containers back to the port every time?

And if so, depending on the distance of course, when returning the container, what if you're picking up another container while you're already there. Are there extra steps involved in dropping off and picking up?

It depends. Sometimes you'll need to take your container to a container yard instead. It changes day to day but you should be able to find that info online.

At container yards, you don't need an appointment so you can drop off and pick up without leaving. At ports, there can be times when that's not the case. You'll have to leave the port then go back in.

Do you need prior experience in a combination vehicle or can you buy a truck and start right away? Current roll off driver.

It depends on the company but I'm sure the standard is 1yr tractor trailer exp.

The company I work with have dedicated shippers. I don't personally know any load boards to use.

I just got into container work here in Atlanta what is the load breakdown like pre pulls chassis splits ?wuts the lingo mean
