Project Sekai: Colorful Stage! feat. Hatsune Miku is a mobile game that combines a gacha game with rhythm game and story in the format of a visual novel that focuses on the daily life of various kids that are struggling on understanding their own emotions, helped by Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin, Kagamine Len and various other virtual singers to fully develop a deep meaning of frienship and music.
in this video I'll talk about a very common phenomemon that occours in the game but up to this day it still remains so ambiguous and mysterious, this thing is known as SEKAI, and its a gateway to a pocket dimention inside the phones of the protagonist that allow them to meet Miku and the others but... how does it works exactly?

about the wonderland and empty sekai being made by one person's feelings: it actually comes up in n the main stories. both sekai's are specifically made from tsukasa's and mafuyu's feelings, to the point mafuyu has full control over her sekai, being able to kick out the rest of niigo. compare to the other three sekais, which are made from the emotions shared by the four members. i think it's interesting that while l/n, mmj and vbs share the same feelings and same common goal, each of wxs' and niigo's members have slightly different goals and feelings (see how wxs is going to eventually disband due to differing goals and niigo all produce their music for different reasons). in niigo's main story, the birth of the empty sekai was framed kind of "mafuyu's feelings are so deep they created a whole world!", so that's why i think that rather than it actually being a shared sekai all along, it's that tsukasa's wish to make other's smile and mafuyu's feelings are so strong they alone rival the feelings shared by 4 other people.

Mafuyu didn't kicked out Niigo by herself, she asked Miku to do so. They came in through their PC and not phones so to leave Miku touch them, and Mafuyu simply asked her to do so Aaand ultimately Niigo have a lot of shared feeling, though I got what you mean

Well, one of her initial card have her encounter with Miku in the 1st side story, and the second one is Mafuyu asking Kanade about Hatsune Miku, then Kanade asked her why she was interested in Miku all of sudden. She brushes it off, but it obviously mean she found SEKAI after she met Kanade. Ena and Mizuki weren't there yet though.

My jaw literally dropped at the end. It's a very smart theory and i never actually thought about it. At the beginning, project sekai was a little bit "normal", especially the cards. I didn't take a very good look at the cards and their details, since it used to not caught my attention a lot. But now, each new event is even more interesting than the past one, the cards are getting more detailed and it's showing the characters real feelings more, which I think it's because of the character development. About the sekais, I have a sort of theory that maybe, there is a "main world" which connects each sekai, worlds and etc. And between those worlds, there would be a "feeling sekai", but no the normal feeling sekai like the sekai of a group or a fragment one. It's a feeling sekai with all the memories, character development, the struggles each character has and etc...Those memories would be something like the cards when we roll. As you said, maybe, the "ball" miku shows us when we roll, may be the fragment sekai's shining ball, and miku is probably wanting us to take a look at them. And when we do, we usually see 2, 3, 4 stars cards, which I believe to be the "memories" that would be in the "feeling sekai of ALL the memories and etc", just like I said before. So, I think I made it clear now. That feeling sekai that is somewhere in the between worlds, has literally everything. Each memory, each card, each story, each sad, happy, fear, angry moment, all over the walls, and that's what Miku wants us to see when we roll and see the balls around her and the one she holds in her hand. And, maybe, one day, the characters will be able to find the "main world", which will allow them to visit others sekais and, especially, the feeling sekai that has all of their memories. Even though the Virtual Singers said that only the owner can visit their own sekai, I really doubt that. And maybe, the ones who will make it able to everyone see the between worlds and even visit the original Miku, will be the leaders, since they are the only ones who can actually visit her.

Ooo I never picked up on how the gacha looks like miku is inviting us to a sekai! That's very cool Something that I also noticed regarding the sekais is that negative feelings negatively impact the sekais. The first example I can think of is when miku and meiko in the street sekai found out a cup that they liked had broken at the start of the period of nocturne event. Do you have any thoughts on that? This is such a good video. The idea of all mixed events being their own sekai is really cool. White day set is my favorite "mixed sekai" Akito, Tsukasa, Mizuki, Shiho and Len are knights. Toya has a dragon, VBS Miku is a thief, and Rui is a mage!

Not gonna lie, at the beginning of the video I wasn't really all that interested and wasn't really following along with what you were saying but once you got into the fragment sekai's it really peaked my interest and curiosity. @@ILoveFriessHey! If you mean by trying to get into the story (I suppose you mean starting the stories) then try and focus on one group that you really resonate with! Of course, the main story doesn’t do justice-but it is still a key factor nonetheless in getting started with each group’s lore. You don’t have to catch up with every story, take your time and focus on another group once you’re done. :) Of course.. if you’re like me, I only focus on one group.. it’s completely understandable! Then again, I’m sorry if this isn’t what you meant. 😭

going by this theory you could assume the logic that binds the virtual singers is the same one that existed in project diva X. They can't create their own songs and depend on outside forces to make them a thing, which in turn keeps their own world stable. Though that one time that L/N Rin helps Saki compose a song kind of disproves that idea. We also have no idea where the music that appears on the other sekais (the songs L/N virtual singers practice or the ones VBS Meiko puts on her cafe for example) come from. It might just come from the members memories but it's hard to tell. The only thing we know is that the only songs Niigo virtual singers sing are songs Kanade has composed (without counting event songs in virtual lives since it's not clear in canon where those came from at all)

Love your theory, I always wanted to watch someone do a video about the lore of the sekai's because there's so many questions and mystery about it. Like why only the sekai's of Wxs and N25 has only one person ( tsukasa and mafuyu ) responsible of creating the sekai or why the other members of WxS can enter tsukasa's sekai we know that N25 miku invited the other members to the sekai to help mafuyu. soo does this mean that the other sekai's can add other people with the same feelings. There are many more questions about the lore love to see a part 2 of this just to hear your thoughts Keep it up the quality and editing of the vid is so good

Why does people say that Mafuyu and Tsukasa created their Sekai alone ? Okay, I can understand for Mafuyu, maybe But the Wonderland Sekai is clearly created at least by Tsukasa AND Emu... Miku is litterally Emu's projection (you got what I mean), and the Sekai is so theme-park related. As much as Tsukasa have important memories in PXL, Emu is clearly a part of why the SEKAI is like that.

I think why miku invited us to be the guardian is because of sekai owners abandoning sekais. In the 2nd anniversary Luka card, she is travelling to different abandoned sekais, where there were "eggs" representing dreams of the owner, miku gone missing. It was quite interesting and please take a look in it. Also, I noticed the sekai where leaders met has a giant tree, kind of resembles the cherry blossom 25ji found. Just coincidence lol

Then there's the special Fragment Sekai (Sakura) which was most likely formed from the Sekai Virtual Singers feeling fragments from wanting to include an actual Cherry Blossom tree or petals from the flowers. I think two actually brought one petal back from that unusual Sekai with the feeling bubble tree. I agree with what the Vocaloids came up with that the tree doesn't look like a Cherry Blossom tree since the tree was green and contained feeling fragment bubbles.

The fact that you can share your Sekai to other‘s speculation is just like you can make your song out of your own feelings but touching other’s feeling. You are creator of miku and sekai if you have made Vocaloid song. In the new Apirl first song miku just sing a lyric like music is her life. Well she just literally mean that.

Honestly, I love this question. For the longest time, since Destiny 2 dropped the Witch Queen, I've begun to make a lot of parallels between SEKAI and how it operates, and many things that are related to the Darkness (the paracausal astral force that involves the dominance of one's own will). - SEKAI, and how it works, are basically Throne Worlds, Hive cyst-universes that are shaped by their thoughts and ambitions, and are expanded in the form of their triumphs, which are different for each Throne World (as they're tied to their Hive God). - Deepsight is the power to reveal the memory of the world and physically manifest it. Not only are there Fragment SEKAIs formed from pasts that are deeply linked with their respective characters, but Brand New World now lets us reveal the past for Area conversations we missed prior to the Brand New World update. Gameplay mechanics for the win! - The ultimate enemy of Destiny is the Witness, a culmination of the first race blessed by the Traveler, which Miku is undeniably similar to; a singularity born of music whose existence created a revolution in the industry, changing it forever. - Strand in Destiny uses the Weave, an abyss of consciousness that essentially links everyone with every other one. SEKAI basically works on the same principle, but is essentially a framework on top of the Weave, linking groups together with these Cyst-universe Throne Worlds. For me, there's no denying it. Miku would do great in Destiny, as a Raid Boss, as a more complicated version of Crow, or something else. She is born in Darkness, and as Savathûn is no villain, *Miku is no hero.* She is *paracausal.*

Loved watching this, and I love love love hearing Project Sekai theories! I would love to see a part 2, or your thoughts on the lore in general! The concept of the theories and the Virtual Singers are so absolutely fascinating to me in it, there's so much to consider... this video also had me realize I didn't know much at all about the fragment Sekai, either. There's other things too that have fascinated me, because... thinking about being guardians, guardians for what reason, what could be a threat... weren't there cards (not yet released in english) that showed abandoned Sekai? The fact that such things exist... (and, I know you glossed over the Evillious one, and perhaps it's dubiously canon/if at all but... the thought that Sekai could also be made from /memories/ is fascinating, too. Though I feel either way, the feelings one might be the more usual, and that kind of sekai is all we have to really go off of anyway hahaha.) This did also have me ponder things with like... the recent event and 25ji KAITO's appearance. Spoilers and all, but-- Because-- on one hand, the fact he's manifested from Mafuyu's anger might be enough for him to want to speed things up on getting down to her problem, but. The way at least translations have sounded had me-- really start to wonder, what would happen to the Empty sekai if they did fail, and she did lose her feelings and herself again...? I think back to and wonder about those abandoned sekai, but that's also again just me loosely reaching and wondering. (honestly, he feels weird in general, but I can't really say for certain because one: relying on others translations, two: my memory isn't great and I would need to go and compare other virtual singer introductions to really see if it's weird or just that I forgot how VS's general enter Sekai-- but just. 'this is.. the empty sekai, right?' 'you're the miku for this world.', him not knowing Mafuyu's name at first, but still being summoned/called/manifested from her feelings... meanwhile, Rin didn't know where she was, she seemed to know the names already (at least knew Ena's already, since Miku mentioned the others names but not Ena's, and Rin mentioned Ena's on her own) --- waves hands. unrelated.) ah, but that's me rambling on the side to this, I do look forward to your future videos!! The whole "feelings" debacle is why I always interpreted "hontou no omoi" to mean true wants/desires/wishes/memories. The memories interpretation makes slightly less sense but is also an applicable meaning of the word omoi so I stuck it in there, but I personally always took the phrase to mean true wishes. Everyone has a goal in mind and that's what formed the SEKAI

I'm all for a second part, you blown my mind... I hadn't noticed all these things, and it's seriously interesting And there are still many unanswered questions that leave me too curious to leave it at that. I don't have anything to add, I just want to agree that Mafuyu and Tsukasa didn't created their respective SEKAIs alone. It's always created by the four of them, I think. */!\* I wrote an awful lot in a probably broken english, be warned. Here's a whole analysis of how SEKAI and the VS reflect every kid's feeling, I guess : Though I admit, EMPTY Sekai could really look as if it was created by Mafuyu only at first. But I think she discovered that SEKAI once she met Kanade and heared the song that saved her (Miku said the song was always in there, so...), so I think somehow it has been created as the same time as Niigo, when there was only Mafuyu and Kanade, and therefore by their both feeling, mixed as the arrange Mafuyu made for Kanade's song (excuse me.) You can also point the fact that Miku really wanted to help Mafuyu, reflecting Kanade's wish a bit, in a way. Ena and Mizuki joined later, but definitely added their own touch to it. When you think about it, Mizuena and Kanamafu situation have some interesting parrallels, as Mizuki said her and Mafuyu were pretty similar on some points, and Kanade and Ena are trying her best to help Mafuyu and Mizuki respectively (Sure they all care about each other as a group, but you got it) What I mean is... They're sharing a lot of similair feelings and it's more and more -jump- obvious as time pass. Even assuming a certain person, or more like two, created a Sekai, the others definitely are linked to it deeply too since the very start. Tsukasa... I still don't understand why people said he created Wonderland Sekai alone. First I can talk about the Vocaloid who were here at first, Kaito and Miku The Virtual Singer as they appear in the SEKAIs are also projection of the kid's feelings. And they frequently appear for one of them precisely each time. Niigo make it obvious for example : Miku is Mafuyu, Ena is Rin, Luka is Kanade and Meiko is Mizuki, without a doubt. I don't think I need to explain why, and I don't know how to explain it anyway, but the events just always show it clearly. Though in SEKAI other than the Empty one, the Virtual Singer tend to appear for one kid in peculiar, then to also... let's say "absorb" the other kids feeling too, and they became a sort of mix. I mean, as an example again, VBS Luka appeared in Same Dream Same colors, probably called by Toya's feeling (She was already here since a long time but shht). But Find a Way out was an Akito-centered event, and I know that Luka was the Vocaloid of the situation, here. Niigo don't do this. (Maybe with Len and Kaito now that they exist in JP, but I don't know yet so I'll focus on the girls) Any Niigo girls (yeah Mizuki I know please don't mind the shortcut) got their own Virtual Singer, and each time they got an event, it's always that very one Vocaloid who got the 4* cards, that help them, you got it. I got off topic in a messy way, but it made me too curious. So I was saying, KAITO and Miku in WonderSekai. I think it's quite obivous that Kaito is here for Kasa at first (and Rui later too, a little). He is the troupe leader and have to deal with everyone craziness, and he is always here for everyone, taking care of them all the time, so much than in a 4koma the plushies called him "Mom"... It's VERY obviously Tsukasa's feeling, mostly. But Miku ? Miku is not Tsukasa here. Her amount of energy and... Everything, is clearly refering to Emu. When I think about it, it's a bit curious since Miku is the Vocaloid you find in every Sekai since their birth. If Tsukasa was really the first and original creator of the Sekai, Miku should have been a projection of his own feelings, right ? But that's not the case, Kaito appeared at Miku's side instead. And the VS casted aside, don't you see how much that Sekai looks like an amusement park ? There's attraction everywhere, guys... I know Tsukasa came at PXL as a kid with Saki, so he's also a part of all thoses amusement park things that lies around, but even Kohane, the number one PXL fan didn't makes anything PXL related appeared in Street Sekai (Idk about her fragment though). Emu obviously made this appear, since PXL is litteraly her home, the place she grew up as well as her whole family. The place is created as much by Emu than Tsukasa. Because of course, between the plushies, the stage, and several other things he pointed, he still have a big influence on WonderSekai, I don't deny that. But he's clearly not alone here I don't know about Rui and Nene influence on it, I'll say it's like Mizuki and Ena, they came later but definitely add somehting to it since in the ends they're all sharing certains feelings (I'm not sure of what is happening actually since I tend to avoid spoiler from the story until its out on EN, but I think Emu and Rui want to keep WxS together, while Nene and Tsukasa are not sure of what to do as they want to stay with the others too, but also have their personal goals they want to follow, to make it short ? And I'll call that shared feelings) In the end... I'm not sure what the conclusion is, as there are certainly some kids who had more influence on their SEKAI than others at the beginning, but eventually they all added to it as they discovered their feelings and as time went on. When you think about it, the VS always acted as if everything and everyone that appeared in SEKAI later was always here, and we just didn't knew before. The doll in the Empty Sekai, The dress-up room in stage Sekai... each time a new Vocaloid appear, they always aks somehting like "Where have you been all this time ?" and act as if they always knew them. Except maybe N25 ones, Rin clearly appeared in front of Miku's eyes, but event there they were already knowing each other's name... So yeah, it isn't shown at the start, but it's definitely always the 4 kid's feeling that created those SEKAI. And as they discover their feelings you can see it more and more clearly. But thoses feelings were into SEKAI since the very start, we were simply not aware of it. I guess it's a bit more nuanced that "Their 4 feelings created a SEKAI" or "It's Mafuyu's/Tsukasa's feeling only who made it appear on its own". It's... Somehting in between. And it's the same thing for the 3 other units, like... Street SEKAI is clearly inspired by Vivid Street. An grew up there, and Akito end up hanging around that street quite young. They're also the only two who saw RAD WEEKEND on live, and when their SEKAI appeared, they were the only two who saw RW in the team. Meanwhile you got Kohane, who didn't knew a thing about RW or Vivid Street at first, but she slowly learned more about it in several way, and got attached to it too. (And you saw the result recently if you're on the JP serv... and she slays btw) Akito and An definitely shaped the Street Sekai at frist, but Kohane and Toya definitely add somehting to it as time passed. And in the end, the place is the result of all of their feelings, and no one will deny that. That's the same with WonderSekai, as well as the Empty one, and the two other. So.When I played the game for the first time, I was completely mesmerized by the way Miku talked to me, the game chart and the gacha, I was simply blown away.I would describe it as that my eyes sparkled like Emu's. I've always been curious about what the whole SEKAI thing could mean and I have to admit that this theory is FANTASTIC. I have a question for theory crafters. Besides the fact that the different forms of the vocaloids can’t be seen by one another or by other group members because of confusing lore clashes. What would happen if they do meet. Or is something not going to let them see one another, but if that’s the case why do they need to hide on some event stories.
