Just a tiny thing I want to add. Six's hunger is a result of missing a piece of her 'soul' and isn't satiated until she gets another one, the lady's soul. Forget to say that specifically. Also if this cycle is to be true, then we can come to the conclusion that this is in fact the 6th time that this cycle has happened hence there only being 5 lady's in the picture. Six being the sixth one, on her way to eat the current one.

you know what's interesting. even as the tall man, I think Mono still love Six, that's why he didn't just kill her or torture her as revenge. he put her in a room, and not like a torture chamber or isolation chamber, the room is filled with toys and her favorite music box. he didn't exploit her, he didn't punish her, I dare say she was even happy within that room until Mono come to break the spell.

I read a theory that the Thin Man wasn't trying to warn Mono at all. He was trying to kill him for trying to take Six away from him. Throughout the game, Six was the one kept alive and sought after by the citizens of the Pale City. Once the Thin Man was released he took Six without paying any mind to Mono. It wasn't until Mono tried pulling Six out of the TV that the Thin Man started pursuing Mono. The theory is that this is when the Thin Man started seeing Mono as a threat for trying to take Six away from him. This is backed up by the official Little Nightmares Tweet that said he was possibly looking for a second chance. This means the Thin Man never blamed Six for what she did to him and came to the conclusion that HE must've done something wrong and was trying to make things right. That's why he never hurt her and gave her her own fantasy world, safe from the outside world.

If the reason for Six betraying Mono is because he destroyed her music box, then adult Mono might want to stop him to prevent the cycle from continuing (he knows young self can beat him). I am pretty sure Six is nine years old, so it’s safe to assume Mono is around the same age. Sitting in a chair from 9 years of age to an old adult age seems torturous. He could have tried to kill his young self to prevent the future he’s currently living. Or perhaps he’s pissed at himself for being trapped for 40+ years for a “mistake” he made as a child. Time travel/loops have been portrayed a lot, and in many different ways so I can’t say whether or not killing young him would destroy old him, but if it did he may not care. At least it breaks the cycle.

When Thin Man captured Six, a fragment of her soul was removed, becoming Dark Six. When Did was reverted from her monster form, she still didn’t have a soul, her hunger is her body’s attempt to fix it. Dark Six is actually the good half of her. Haunting herself when she does terrible things

Yeah when Six came back to her original self after Mono destroyed her music box, we could see she was pissed. You can just feel it. Her getting up slowly and just staring down at Mono rather than running up to him and greeting him. To Six, that exact time when Mono whacked her music box for the first time, she knew he was an enemy.

For me I think it’s because she knew what would happen if he broke it, that if she couldn’t be the host then the tower would take him instead, although it’s clear monster six loved the music box but six that’s in her right mind didn’t care THAT much about it at least not enough to kill someone over it So monster six did attack mono and defend the music box but I believe that deep down the real six had an influence, not to save the music box but to save mono, that’s why she’s so hollow after being saved (that and she lost her sole) If you don’t believe me here’s why I believe so 1st if six was as cold hearted as people believed then she wouldn’t have stopped to catch mono if she was she wouldn’t spend a single second longer there, six also doesn’t come across as sadistic 2nd the way she drops him comes across like ripping a band-Aid off, hesitating and ripping her hand away and she stares off even after she dropped him (like saying goodbye) 3rd the tower aims specifically at mono, breaks the part of the bridge that mono was running on, waits for six to drop him and only allows the rest of the bridge to crumble until after six leaves almost like it made a deal with six, “either leave mono here or I’ll keep you both” safe to say the bridge would’ve crumbled immediately after six pulled up mono 4th final one which is just speculation but I believe six chose to leave so she could get the power from the lady and come back to save mono Edit: but that’s just a theory, a game theory. I rather six not be totally evil which is another why I stand by theory

i think all the "monsters" were once innocent children and were changed by the signal tower or the tv's, because as the name suggests, its a little "nightmare" meaning that everyone in the nightmare was once a child. I also believe that the people in the comics are gonna become the DLC's.

I got chills watching it.. the most heartbreaking thing for me is to watch them form a friendship and have it ultimately ruined. And as you pointed out, when you watch Six closely you can see in her gestures how she slowly warms up to Mono. Even before releasing the Thin man, she is clearly terrified to death and she wants to run away from the TV, but she waits for Mono with her arm outstretched, beckoning him to start running as well. Idk it just makes me really sad that they had to end up like this.. but this was an amazing video, as always, thank you!

I think that for Six it wasn't just the music box that triggered her to drop Mono. She went to the music box after being taken by the Thin Man for comfort as she was so scared of the events and the song always calms her. Sharing the music box with Mono, a dear friend of hers who she trusts. So, when Mono breaks her music box, she panics and has a break down because that moment, her own friend destroys the thing that comforted her from such a traumatizing event. She can't be reasoned with because she is still so frightened by the events she acts out of anger. But once she is freed, she saves Mono, feeling guilty for her actions as in her mind he was her best friend who was trying to help. So, when she catches him, she sees something familiar about Mono and then it hits her, Mono is the Thin Man and his face being ever so alike to his causes Six to instinctively let go of his hand to get away from him. She's only 9 when she was taken by a man from the T.V and so to be around someone like that would overwhelm any child.

One thing about Six being the Lady... anyone else get the impression that these two are a little *too* different? Look at the Lady: dark and monstrous, yes, but her demeanour seems far calmer. Also, consider her immense vanity - she cares a little too much about her looks, having a lot of mannequins for various outfits, she sobs at looking at her twisted reflection, etc. Also linking back to the calm demeanour, the Lady also seems to show a strong maternal instinct, as seen as she caresses the doll in The Residence as well as her humming, suggesting she once had a relationship with someone else (could she have once been a mother?) Not once do we see any of these traits in Six. Think about it: throughout both games we see that Six is a survivor; she's scrappy, untrusting of others, even feral at times, and after leaving the Signal Tower, she appears callous and leaves Mono behind like nothing ever happens. In LN1 (which has been confirmed to be a sequel to LN2) she shows no concern for any of the other children; Six is out for herself. Plus, she comes across a music box in the prison on the Maw and doesn't seem to care about it at all; there's a small theory about Six moving away from her comfort zone surrounding the music box when Mono destroys it. She doesn't care about her appearance either. Yes we see her don the yellow raincoat, but it's to keep her safe from the cold, it isn't a fashion choice. So where would such a drastic change in character from a wild little survivor girl who doesn't need anyone to a vain motherly woman come from? And on top of that, after killing the Lady, Six immediately leaves the Maw. Does it seem like she'd ever have a reason to come back? She certainly doesn't seem like the settling down type. I know she's a child but even the idea that she grows up to become so radically different seems like a bit of a stretch to me, and I don't see how, after living in this cruel world for her whole life, that Six would ever grow out of those instincts that kept her alive for so long. But hey, that's just my opinion - feel free to disagree with me, all opinions are welcome, it's interesting to see people's viewpoints on this grim ambiguous world Tarsier has created

That is actually a good point. I honestly never believed six is the same person as the lady but I do think six might end up staying at the maw and become the new owner. So basically another lady but not the same exact person. But like you said, she doesn’t seem like the type to settle down at one place with the exception of her staying at the hunter’s place.

This is a totally valid theory, however I would argue that most people change pretty radically when they grow up. Elements of their nature will remain intact, but things like "becoming more vain" just sort of happen during adolescence, y'know? Plus the Lady is powerful and lives comfortably in a position of control - she isn't struggling day-to-day just to survive, so it makes sense that she could begin to indulge in a little vanity. I don't really think these particular differences preclude Six from becoming the Lady, but that's just me.

If a game or show has a villain centric story, the villain is the protagonist, we see things from their eyes. The hero trying to stop them would be the antagonist to the person whose story we follow. Maybe there is no way to break this infinite loop. The Blob (this is what I'm gonna call the eye goop thing) is an immortal entity outside of time and space that takes away the bodies and glitched souls of the citizens of the pale city to survive. Whenever something bad happens, like the thin man catches mono and tells him not to go after six, it just creates a new timeline where this probability never happens, which explains the respawning animation. Maybe when mono/six spawns back, he/she is in a new timeline. IN the animations, the character wakes up from a nightmare after being killed. Maybe the character was having memories of the other timeline in which the loop was broken. Basically what I'm saying is that the blob wants to make the world dystopian, manipulating the 2 main characters essential to the loop (six and mono) to do what it wants them to do in order to continue the loop. The blob might be a god-level creature that cannot be comprehended by a human, so it appears as a giant tower. During his transformation into the thin man, over the years mono hunts the pale city for children, looking for six to kill her and have revenge and acquires his long clothes and hat (this explains the glitched remains). During this, Six asks the Ferryman to take her to the Maw, where she can have all the food she wants. She becomes hungrier and hungrier, eventually eating the Lady (her older self from the loop). The Lady tells her minions to hunt for children because she knows that she killed the Lady when she was young and she doesn't want that to happen to her. After present six kills the Lady, she inherits her powers and waits near the chimney of the ship for rescue, however, no rescue comes, only hordes of gluttonous people. She accepts her fate and starts controlling the Maw, till the next version of her kills her and so on. Maybe Six ( The Lady ) wears a porcelain mask to hide her face just in case Mono comes after her (as he's more powerful). I think the game symbolises the descent of mindset from a child to an adult, and how a child's innocence and goodness fades away into evil, as they continue their life, experiencing dark and horrible things. The Blob orchestrates all the events of all the games from beginning to end and repeats this infinitely for it's own malicious purpose. Anyways, that's my theory, hope it made some sense to you.

Regarding Monster Six: I think a reason as to why you also run into 6 as a "monster six" is because maybe mono realized the reason Six dropped him was because he destroyed the only thing precious to six: the music box. So, after becoming the thin man, once mono recaptured six as the thin man, he may have given her the music box and gave six her own little "room" within the signal tower with him ( thinking this was the only way to make six happy ) when in reality he simply fed and created an unhealthy obsession over it within her, warping her appearance. Idk if this makes sense or not.

Knowing what happened to six I believe that other adults in the game are in a similar state, imagine if the tower isn't the only building that is in of itself an entity. It's a lovecraftian thought but, take the teacher for example. Why would she be teaching about the tower unless she knows that something about it is special, apart from cooks, doctors and the staff of The Maw she's the only resident viewer that we saw with an occupation that involved children, dolls or no the bullies are still children, children who like herself are victims of the TV screens. In the end she finally realizes that he is the nightmare. Now if you remember the end when he broke the doors and kept trying to break the peace she had listening to it and this is why she dropped him because he is the reason why. But dont get it twisted not only is mono the nightmare six is too.. In the end six drops him leaving him alone and this is why he kept getting drawn to the tv the older mono knows what will happen if he stays with six. This is why he takes six and not mono in the chase scene. Older mono's nightmare is being alone and six is the one who is causing him to be alone and taking six a way to Try to prevent it from happening all over again. Six Nightmare: No music box no peace Mono: Loneliness Mono just wants a friend but six thinks the music box is the friend. Him breaking it is her nightmare Her dropping him an leaving him with no friends and alone is his nightmare To be honest i think that mono is chasing after her because he needs a friend if she leaves him his nightmare will have become true all over again...he is trying to break the cycle. Yeah this seems to be the most popular theory lol. However, what makes me doubt that is 1) Mono’s face and the thin man’s face look absolutely nothing alike, and they don’t resemble each other in any way. 2) you have options in the game to wear hats that reveal Mono’s face, when Six is around. If what caused Six to drop Mono was seeing his face, I don’t think the developers would have put in options to reveal Mono’s face throughout the game since they want to keep it as consistent as possible. If the player put a hat on Mono, Six will have already seen his face before the Signal Tower part in the game. Yeah, Mono’s default/canon appearance is a bag over his head, but still like I said, since the options of wearing hats in the game exist, I think it rules out that theory since Tarsier would wanna be consistent. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And with dropping Mono, there are a few ways it could be interpreted. 1) She recognized his face as the same as the Thin Man's, putting two-and-two together, and dropping him out of shock or thinking it could stop whatever loop they're in. If it's the former, then there's a chance she immediately regretted it (that we just can't see without dialogue or facial expressions). 2) She blamed him for releasing the Thin Man, leading to her capture and mutation. As well as how he turned her back by destroying the thing that gave her comfort. 3) Maybe she didn't want to leave that place of comfort with the music box. So when he destroyed it, causing the place to collapse, and she didn't want to go back to the world where they're constantly running and hiding from monsters (but now she has to)

My theory: After realizing rain coat girl is dead and she couldnt save her she tries to go as far away from nest as possible but then she is found by the hunter, as the comics show she sees mono on a tree and gets distracted and that's when the hunter finds her. Then it's the start of little nightmares 2.

Can we talk about how, if this theory is true, it gives a new meaning to the title "Little Nightmares?" "Little" is a commonly used way to say "young." "Back when I was little," and stuff like that. Or, introducing a third child. As we've already seen, Six and Mono have powers, so it stands to reason that other children should have powers. Not all of them but some. So perhaps a child with time alteration powers could break the chain. They go backwards through the story, altering events, changing, and therefore breaking, the cycle. For example: stopping the thin man from taking Six

Just like our universe, perhaps there was no beginning. Maybe the watchtower just "exists" throughout all time as a connected entity, and all the events of LN never happened. Or! What if Mono and Six both existed outside of the watchtower's range at one point, but as soon as they entered the range, every event in the game instantly started happening? And all we are doing each playthrough is seeing the timeline from the children POV.

Breaking her music box wasn't a good move. It makes sense in the moment 'cause you're trying to free her from the monster she became so that you can escape together, but I knew Mono messed up the moment I saw her slow stand up and look at him. I remember thinking "well, hopefully he doesn't need her to grab him" after that. xD The development of their friendship throughout the story was touching. Even as a monster, she still regarded him as a friend until he broke what she cherished. I think it was quite cute.

i totally agree with you!!! i think to expound upon this a little further, i believe Mono is the embodiment of maturity and Six is the embodiment of childishness. this would explain why Mono has the reasoning and logic to see that Six is actually trapped by the music box, and he has the selflessness to save her over and over again throughout the game. meanwhile, Six is too innocent to have a greater sense of morality, empathy, and ability to let go of grudges, and this character flaw is what leads her to kill the porcelain boy, mutilate the prosthetic fingers, warm her hands by the incinerator, and of course, betray Mono.
