Superion is one of my fave Transformers Combiners. Computron is my fave, Abominus and Bruticus come next. The episode War Dawn was well done, introducing Orion Pax. Ironic that the future Optimus Prime was once Megatron's #1 groupie. War Dawn also gives a sense of continuity and history to Marvel's Transformers cartoons that the animated G. I. Joe never bothered to even try. If one change should be made to Superion its to reformat Silverbolt from a Civilian Condcorde to a more military oriented aircraft like the other Aerialbots. Making Silverbolt an X-29/Conquest X-30 would've made more sense. Had Dale Brown's Flight of the Old Dog been released back in 1985/1986 instead of 1988, Silverbolt could've been a B-52H Stratofortress, or even the Old Dog herself, a modified B-52H reclassed as the EB-52 Megafortress. At the very least, Silverbolt could've been a Mig 31 Firefox, had there wouldn't have been legal issues (the 1982 Clint Eastwood film was great).

I loved Firefox! One of the few movies I specifically remember watching as a kid:) you're definitely right Silverbolt would've benefitted with a more combat centric jet rather than a passenger plane. I mean the best part of the concorde...being it's speed is nothing compared to the other fighter jets! I forget the name but there is a Decepticon that transforms into a Conquest X-30ish jet. Really nice! One of my favorites in terms of engineering and design. It was an Orange jet with a trident 👍

The Special Teams (the Aerialbots, Stunticons, Combaticons and Protectobots) are were the UK comic really shines as they had a VERY rich backstory and even giveaways! I still have my TF stickers and press-ons from this period. (And of course, I still have the comic books) Say, I know you said you don't have access to these comics. I made a few vids about them on my channel, if you want to see them

Yeah! I know the UK comics was pretty extensive as I believe their release schedule was weekly? As opposed the monthly release of the US title. I'm sure that there is a lot to cover regarding the UK title..but that would probably double the time I need to make an episode and the length of each story itself 😅but I try to include what I can from time to time. The Arielbots were pretty popular at first, but very under used and mostly forgotten outside of the excellent War Dawn. Kind of a shame, but there were so many toys to shill, i guess. Or the writers just didn't care as much for them?

I think it was more of the former. The new toys were coming in hot and fast there just wasn't any time or room to focus on just one thing. Like that whole rebirth threw parter was just new character after new character. Like one looooooong commercial. 🤣

@@SJHFoto yes that's part of it. Older toys are...trashed or shown to be not as powerful to make way for newer stuff. Yeah Laserbeak (or was it Buzzsaw)..who was an older characater beat Omega..but I think the point was that Omega just wasn't as powerful anymore...

I think the reason why silverbolt turns into a jet but he is ironically afraid of heights is because he was forced to scan a jet (oh wait, he was born as a jet transformer so he didn’t even have a choice to what thing he wanted to turn into!)

A couple of thoughts: 1) I might reduce or cut out the history. So many others do it that its hard to stand out. 2) The timeline and comparison between CHUG and third party seems like you are on to something there. The Superion Wars half could be useful. Just knowing what 3rd parties are involved and their names helps a lot. I'd focus more there than a history unless yhats where you passion resides.

Thanks so much forcthe feedback! Yup I try to focus less on the history aspect as you're right there are so many more extensive channels out there. Andnyes I do really try to focus on what I have direct experience with...which is why o get a lot of flack when I don't cover stuff like Armada 🤣 sorry but I never watched that show he he. Man I loved those guys as a kid. I bet it would be fun nerding out with you about jet fighters I'll just say the F-14 is above and beyond the best jet but some salty ahole messed things up. Like I told you before Silverbolt because I'm afraid of heights too and seeing him be brave as a kid made me want to try to overcome my fears. I've never had any of the toys and I really don't know if I want to try to track any down. But this was a fun video I hope you and your family are safe blessed and happy and as always looking forward to the next one and I'll see you there.....p.s the best fighter plane of all time is the Vought F4U Corsair

I'll be the first to admit I'm not an expert in all the technical aspects of all the jets...but in general they always fascinated me...even if I hated flying myself 😅 there are a lot of options out there for Aerialbots official and unofficial in different sizes too. In fact next year Hasbro is releasing a new set of Aerialbots on retail. Hoping they'll be more accurate and they don't do any shortcuts but just reusing and repainting some members. Corsair looks cool! Although if we're talking classic prop planes...my favorite was the Spitfire 👍👍👍

Unfortunately I felt that the Aerialbots lacked quite a bit in the personality department, especially compared to the Stunticons. The stand outs were Silverbolt for being a reluctant leader with a fear of heights and Slingshot for being a total asshole. The other three were mostly interchangeable for me. The Stunticons, however, had all sorts of quirks and oddities, and were an interesting mook squad for the Cons.

True I think it also didn't help that they were the most uniformed looking group at least when it came to their robot mode color palette. As per their techspecs they all did have distinct personalities and quirks as you would put it but inevitable that certain members would resonate more than others. I would argue though that they had more personality than the protectobots 😅

I DO mind they switched Slingshot out and replaced him for a while with a helicopter. Because that was the only aearialbot I had as a kid, my mum threw away the combiner part when she opened it out of its blister to prevent me from nagging on getting the other. Didn't knew he was part of a combiner team until the late 90s thanks to arrival of the internet I had that Revenge of the fallen set. They were okay, but bought it only to use with the upgrade set that worked okay, felt a tad small for a classic combiner though. Next I bought my anus, one bot at a time. Didn't wanted to ruin it for myself so didn't combine them until I had all 5. Shouldn't have done so, would have tapped out earlier if I knew. When I combined them I loathed the drone and it's fragility, so I crushed it in my left hand and threw the rest of the combiner into the wall full force. Then I picked up the pieces and let a friend review long time ago before I ordered him to either burn or sell it for spare parts. A few years later I bought the Combiner wars version. Bought it because it was an official product and I missed having a Superion. Sold him off to TF source together with a highly detailed 3rd party Bruticus because I needed some funding for MAS Optimus and some other stuff. So now I no longer have a craving for a Superion and it surprises me, since I'm the nostalgia kind of a guy. I got not much space for one either, so that does make it easier too

He he I hope you know my ribbing on Slingshot was all in good fun 😅💡He's cool in my book. And yeah I was happy they eventually bright him back in the CW toyline along with Wildrrider. Ouch for your anus bot! Yeah he was a mess. But an admirable attempt I guess. That little drone bot was cool in concept but you're right it didn't work. I believe Hasbro will be releasing a new Aerialbot set next year. I'm intrigued as it should match up better with their new Menasor. So let's see 👍
