@Over Powered Yes it's a reference to piss. In snowy countries children lies to each other that the piss on snow (yellow snow) is lemon snow and tastes better than white normal snow. So an attempt to make another child to eat piss snow. The age of the kids for this joke is around 4-5 years old. Dunno if you actually knew this I just know people who has never seen snow in their lives.

I don't think that's silly, as travel is possible between worlds, it's likely that settlers arrived to these worlds in the somewhat recent past. Explains both the common tongue logs, and the elven ruins in them.

White Frost = Entropy? Seems like a silly idea. You can't get rid of entropy without throwing the Laws of Thermodynamics, not to mention all of the rest of physics, out the window. What do you suppose would happen if Ciri could "kill" entropy? How would the sun shine? How would you digest and metabolize food? Any process that releases energy, therefor producing heat, would suddenly cease to exist. Or be transformed into something unimaginable to us.

I feel that it’s actually a person, or rather their feelings taking form as the white frost. It’s mostly a feeling that I have with no real proof behind it to back up my theory. It’s just after seeing what Ciri’s feelings had on her powers during Vesimirs death it’s not too far fetch that someone else just as powerful (due to the loss or death of someone) is so distraught with grief and sadness and hatred for the world that their feelings culminate into something physical- the white frost.

See, I linked it to the prophecy where quote "the seed shall burst into flame". In the games I took this almost literally as the first source Ciri has a connection to is flame when she tries to learn magic at a young age. She apparently was never able to use magic again as it traumatized her deeply. I believe in the game she destroyed the white frost with literal flame.

Dunno if it was me but I thought it was Eridin who brought about the White Frost in the game. Every time he appeared it was always cold, and snow appeared. I don't know a time when he appears and it isn't cold and snow/ice. When you go to his home world it's all lush green with waterfalls. So I thought he rebelled and just started taking over worlds by freezing the hell out of them so no one could live on them. You know, because Eridin is a warm and fuzzy peach.

I have a theory about the white frost, (at least as it's presented in the game) and how it fit's with the characters. Please feel free to correct any misconceptions I might have had. Also, a lot is based on what's written in the wiki. Spoiler alert. Looking at certain events in the game and some on the backstory, I have concluded that a possibility for the white frost's "base" so to speak, might be Cregennan of Lod. Sure maybe a bit far-fetched but so are many things in this universe. Supposedly he died after being accused of treason, scheming a plot against humans in cahoots with the elves. During this time Lara was pregnant and trying to ensure the survival of her Daughter, whom after being adopted by the queen of Redania; Cerro, was named Riannon. It's also my understanding that Lara was originally engaged to Crevan Espane aep Caomhan Macha, also known as Avallac'h. But enough on their old history for now. During the game you come across a book shop in Novigrad. If you enter this bookshop the shopkeeper guides you to a book with a letter, supposedly from Jacques de Aldersberg (who is also believed to be Alvin from the first game, I'm gonna go with Alvin from now on). He stated that he had tried to vanquish the white frost, but had failed. In Skellige you come across an elven lair/laboratory where you come across a few drawings, that Gerralt first believe to be Ciri, but is actually drawings of Lara. I believe this might be a big pin in why Ciri was successful while Alvin wasn't, because of her similarities to Lara she was able to stop Cregennan's rampage. This really takes precedence in that Cregennan is on a quest of revenge, whether against the elves or just the world in general. I guess it depends on what really happened as the elves and humans tell slightly different stories. Though all agree that Cregennan was supposedly killed by humans (unless he somehow survived, as he were a powerful sorcerer.) Also the fact that the white frost stops either way. The difference in the ending of the game is whether Ciri comes back or not. She's not necessarily dead if she doesn't come back, but maybe. Maybe she died from the white frost and Cregennan then saw her dead, with his former lovers face... or she appeared before him, and he stopped bewildered by her pressence. I feel I have left some points out. I need to play the games again. In any case it's just a fun fan theory, like a "what if" kind of story. I do hope you find it more entertaining than frustrating.

From what i understood and remember from reading books and explanation in the game the white frost is some kind of magic spell cast to freeze. But in terms of power to normal spells its extremely powerfull, powerfull enough to seep through the cracks between worlds and slowly freeze them to death, spreading from world to world. Since its source cant be reached easily all you experience is its effects. Siri who has the elder blood can both reach and dispell or otherwise negate the white frost spell. And thus stop the white frost al together at the source.

I kind of hybridize them in my head. I see where Ciri goes at the end of Witcher 3 as the "Spiral" Eridin mentions where all worlds meet. While there, she uses her power to incrementally adjust the axial tilt and position of the Witcher World that can only be done at the spiral, and maybe the Aen Elle world too to make something more akin to the Earth's LIA, which we only truly ended by burning fossil fuels. With the increasing industrialization we see in Season of Storms from Nimue's era and might be hinted at in the Djikstra ending, I see that happening to the Witcher world too.

In my own head canon I've thought about it as a sort of convergence of extremely powerful/dense magical uhhhh...."ley lines" for a lack of a better term. Whether it has formed naturally or was set in motion by someone is another story altogether. Ciri's power being able to stop it could work something like her changing the flow/direction/location of these lines so that they don't collide, thus killing the energy that fuels it.

Yeah, I also wondered why they had the white frost 3000 years early. My understanding was that Avallac'h opened a portal for Ciri to go to another world where the white frost was and launch a preemptive strike. He's a pragmatist. If there was a time-crunch, I don't think he would have spent so much time talking to Geralt. I thought his plan was to send Ciri against the white frost while Geralt was preoccupied with the Wild Hunt so that the Witcher, or any of the friends, wouldn't have the opportunity to stop Ciri. Despite this plan, Geralt made it to them in time, but didn't stop Ciri from fulfilling her destiny. That or CD Project Red just had a much looser view of "destiny" than Sapkowski does- who really drives the concept home in the books. I really appreciate that you not only do these videos but interact with the fans. Would love to keep learning more.

I have to wonder why Ciri had to face the White Frost when she did, right after the battle with the Wild Hunt, instead of, say, six months later. What was the urgency? It wasn't going anywhere and she was no longer endangered by the Wild Hunt. She didn't even have control of her powers yet, as Avallac'h had mentioned just hours earlier. If only her powers could defeat the White Frost, wouldn't she have needed to be able to use them effectively to ensure victory? Why would Avallac'h even agree to help her open the way until she had maximized her chances of success? OTOH, if she could defeat the White Frost without control of her powers, why didn't she just go after it long before? Then the treat to the world of the Aen Elle would have ended and Eredin would have no motive to attack the world of the Aen Seidhe or to hunt Ciri. (Which would have made for a mighty short game. :D)

I don't like the fact they don't explain anything in the game, everything is happening in the last minutes of the game and never mentioned priorly. If they were to change the book material so drastically, they could at least give it more game time and more writing basis. What if (and this a big IF) if Ciri diverted the White Frost and the Aen Elle world was going to be consumed by the White Frost, so Ciri just teleported the White Frost to that world and left. If thats true the Ciri is a mass murderer. Damn it Ciri why did you do that! If that isn't true then she probably sent the Frost too one of the different worlds we see in the game but still thats a possibility.
