There are cool things you can do with consolidation of power, like motti+ a unit with high attack like jabba's rancor etc, but the problem is that a lotttt needs to align to get an early dragon or an early devastator

For Consolidation of Power it's a way to sacrifice a bunch of units with "When Defeated" abilities. I tried putting a list together to get a Maul out. It was primarily for mass sacrifice. Ultimately, the deck didn't work at all.

@Thorrk_THT I absolutely agree. I think FFG was trying to label this as a big sacrifice outlet and let you put a unit into play. It's not good for sure.

Per the Comprehensive Rules 6.3.1.D, “if the attacker is attacking a base, there is no “defender” for this attack.” Given how Corner the Prey is phrased, I believe you *can* technically still play it to attack with a unit, but it only gets a buff if you’re attacking another unit.

I like the thematic idea behind Consolidation of power. At least I think that's how it's intended :D So as an example: Play the new unit, Defeat 2-3 units, trigger their when defeated abilites and apply them all to the new unit. So the new unit could get a shield and 2 exp. This is how you get an extremely strong unit. But of course, I don't see how this can be playable in any way.

Well making a thematic card is not really enough, in my opinion Consolidation of power should at the very least have some sort of potential for the future. I get your example but there are WAY better ways to get value from sacrificing a bunch of units like Gor, Malevolence or Invasion of Christophsis.

My argument for consolidation of power: wat tambor deck wait for his flip to give +4/+4 stats on turn 6. Play the card at the end of the turn to get a relentless out early. To be fair though I tried it and never got it to work lol

Weirdly enough, i think tactical advantage has a 1/10 potential not 0. I've been playing a lot of Asajj green and you end up with a loot of units ready by the end of the round thanks to cards like OTD and others. Its not good enough to be put into a deck but as a cheap event, if "events matter" synergies keep getting printed, or "tactics mater" like steilla garrera, or units that give benefits for hitting certain stat thresholds... It could find its place as convenient filler. Nothing Too fancy but if the card became a cantrip, for example, because of another card/leader ability, that could be... Ok

Corner the prey has some use for overwhelm units, so its very situational but i think it gives it a higher ceiling than you gave it credit for. Still a bad card tho

As someone who flat out lost a sealed tournament because of Grim Resolve, I am going to disagree with you there. It was literally the only way my opponent could win and they had it in hand. The biggest advantage it has is it allows you to immediately attack (like Surprise Strike and Breaking In but in red). It can be a surprise game ender with Redemption… and plays well with Qi’ra, Han2, and Asajj. Is it incredible? No… but far from being in the running for worst card.

@Thorrk_THT I think the main value would be using it to play an out of aspect unit. Rather than paying +2 or +4 for a card you can use this to play it. I mean the math still isn't that great, but there's something to it I bet.

Believe it or not, some very good players like woooo played Galactic Ambition in set 1 as a sideboard card. (it was not great imo, but playable) I think galactic ambition has a lot of potential for the future, imagine if endless legion was a unit it would be INSANE with galactic ambition.

@ it was never played regardless if it being in the sideboard. And to many things need to happen for it to be actually be playable. Even if endless legion was a unit you would have to have 15 life left to play it. 2 sets post release of galactic ambition and it’s a dud, previews of set 4 and still nothing in sight to make it remotely playable. Where I would argue the #1 card you picked has way more potential upside vs galactic ambition

@@krzykoopa It was played in the sideboard therefore it was played. I don't mind paying 14 life if I win the game. If your deck is build properly you pull relentless, and 3/4 other sentinel/ambush/lifegain units, what are you gonna do? This game 100% over. You can pull this on turn 6, or even earlier with ramp. If endless legion was a unit, galactic ambition would be a tier 1 combo deck. Consolidation of power has absolutely 0 potential for the simple reason that there loads of cards that do what it does but much better. (Gor, invasion, malevolence...)

I can totally create a (realistic) scenario when I play GA on turn 5 and win the game it's not that difficult at all. for example turn 5 so 6 units: Relentless, reinforcement walker, snoke and 3 smaller units, let's say: gamemorian guard, blaksun starfighter , regional governor. How can you possible lose the game from there ^^?

Consolidation of power with watt and kraken. Making a token stronger then sacrifice after it attacks.? Still don't know what you play off of the card but maybe a maul? Or Vader?

Fun list. But some of the "Floor" evaluations are weird. You are mentioning having no units to play on beeing a Floor 0. But headhunting got a 1 :D

No idea if that will ever be a thing, but in an official deck, petition is pretty ok ,draw 3 for 3 is nothing to scoff at. Imo all the cards I mentioned in this video are far worst.

Oh I would have to disagree, yes it's not great but in draft or sealed it's very decent, I can often play it for 8, and 6/7 sentinel in space for 8 is not terrible. Notice that in set 3 there are very few removal for big units so a 6/7 in space is a monster.

Aggrieved Parliamentarian is actually on my list of cards that have a lot of potential for the future. Cheap unconditional discard hate available to all decks is likely to become very important. Also 2/2 for 2 is not great but if you are missing some 2-drop in draft it's playable.
