My pet deck is 4C no G artifacts (Silas Renn and Akiri, Line Slinger [Artifacts]). It's probably an 8.5 on power level but it's sorta balanced with only having ~32 lands... Main wincon is Tezzeret (Master of Metal and Master of the btidge) zapping people for a lot of damage. Biggest weaknesses: Mass artifact destruction, only has two counterspells that care about artifacts (Disruption Protocol and Override)

@@RobMedellin last time I checked that card was a flower and flowers aren't very strong, I think it probably loses to 99 wastes and mana geode as commander since rock beats flower I think. But idk I think flowers know trees and those make wood which can make bats which can used to kill geologists since they can only see rocks and minerals so maybe with how the meta wraps around they win but I think the rocks win as my heart tells me to believe in the shiny rock as it is very cool and shiny.

@@edgaming7505 Right. I had an almost all black deck (with a couple green and red splashed in) that, if the right conditions were met, could get 50+ life. But it also had insane removal and could reset the board back to your favor with blood in the snow plus lolth giving you life back with each creature killed on your side of the board. White sucks unless you use it as a secondary color. Doesn't matter how much life you gain if you can't ever kill me/make me lose.

@@therebelofchaos1674 I have had many games(because the deck is incredibly consistent where I have had 1 cost reducer on turn 3 and on turn 4 I hit them with my aetherflux reservoir for 50, lolth wont come down until after I win and blood on the snow wont do anything to me(I have 4 creatures in the deck). Even vs decks that got over 50 life, I just continued my combo and hit them twice for 50, if you ever tap out vs my deck, I will just kill you, doesnt matter how big your board is.

White is my favorite color in magic. It is by far the weakest color. Wizards doesnt want it to have great ramp options or great card draw options. Those two being the two main major resources in the game there is a clear problem. Obviously white isnt useless but he was obviously joking in the last video. I have a mono white deck for edh and man did i have to REACH to make it keep up with my playgroups power level and i still struggle on mana and cards regularly with it. Recently wizards has been printing stronger white cards, and i do think as a supporting color for the good colors (green, blue, & black) it does a great job. But sadly white and Red are just clearly behind.

The natural tactics for White and Red are fast, aggressive strategies. Burn/RDW is always around in 60 card, 20 life formats, and that's what cards have been balanced around for the vast majority of magic. Running 5 playsets of 1-mana 3-damage burn spells means a third of your deck is extremely mana efficient but giving red good card draw would be horrendously overpowered since it would let them keep throwing more damage at face. Commander, with its 100 card singleton decks and 40 starting life hits burn/aggro in three ways. Bigger deck leads to less consistency. Running singletons leads to less consistency. 40 life is frankly just out of reach for the archetype. Mono-white faces the same problems. Both colours just run on a frequency that isn't really compatible with the basic nature of the format. Of course, if there were a situation where these aggro strategies could reliably get to 40 damage in 4-5 turns, then it would be out of control in 60 card formats. It's not impossible to make a strong mono red, mono white or boros deck in commander, but it'll need some thinking outside of the box and a weenie aggro strategy is almost certainly not viable because the dudes just aren't big enough to chunk through 40 life on each player before other decks come online and beat up your dudes.

It is good as a supporting color to blue in a miracles control style deck, and the occasional white taxes style deck. I remember white being ok in aggro Boros builds, Orzhov Lifelink/Exalted strategies, and the occasional Selesnia token deck... Back in the Gatecrash block. Almost a decade ago. I like it as a secondary color when I run an enchantment deck or a weenie deck, and I'll sometimes use it in drafts. But I'm with you when it comes to Commander. Sometimes I'll have it as A color in the deck, but not mono-white. Never mono-white. Here's why. White is actually really good at getting cheap shit on the field. So are the others (Red especially,) but I'm going somewhere with this. White needs to be strong from the beginning of the game, and they'll only survive long enough to cast the thumpy cards which can actually change the game, like some of the big angels. White has basically no mid-game presence. It's too inconsistent. Like you said, it has a lot of tools, such as Exile and life gain. It isn't the best at anything, and other colors all have other things going for them as well, but they can usually set up a board state which can handle early threats and synergize for damage.. but that's about it. It has big creatures, but its ramp sucks, and it's honestly just not realistic to expect it to keep up in formats like EDH, where life gain is much less relevant and white can't build its army without being easily checked. Sure, white has removal.. but anything more than a single target, such as a board wipe, usually has an untenable mana cost.

white is a weenie archetype that is there to easily remake their field cause they have to board wipe to clear most things so yes for the sake of mtg balance so white doesn't lose and spend the whole time board wiping for nothing; they have some of the easiest creatures to summon

They're the kings of cheap wimps, just most of their obscenely powerful cards are so expensive to play that someone else has usually taken a massive lead in a game like Commander before they can get any realistic threats moving. I tend to feel like I'm playing catch up constantly when I'm playing mono white for EDH. It works pretty well for faster 2 player formats, especially draft. I just find it pretty underwhelming by itself in EDH.

Can't tell you the amount of times I exiled approach of the second sun with necromentia, or insta killed their angel of destiny Yea sure, gaining life can stall out the game. But life gain does nothing impactful, especially against creatures that impact the board right away or spells that have great effects.

3:45 the capitalization of the "M" and "G", but not the "t" is, afaik, from some kinda general title capitalization rule of thumb where words that are 3 letters or less are basically always going to be lowercase, while bigger words are capitalized. One could see it as small words being white decks, while big words as green decks. :y
