Yeah, I believe the original script for H20 had a scene where characters had to do a presentation about serial killers, and one of them mentions Michael Myers and how he had killed Jamie, resulting in Laurie rushing to the bathroom and throwing up when she realises her daughter is dead. Really wish they had kept/filmed this .

Halloween 3 Halloween kills Halloween 4 H20

Season of the Witch being called Halloween 3 is both a blessing and a curse, because it gives the movie an identity, people think it's critized because Michael Myers isn't in it, but if it was just called Season of the Witch, it would just be some c-level horror film from the 80's that nobody remembers. Plenty of people complain saying that Halloween should have been an anthology but there are two reasons I'm glad it didn't. First, it gave us the greatest horror movie icon in history and 2, every movie that would have been in the anthology has been made, a horror movie throughout the 80's and 90's would just have the Halloween logo on it. Brain Scanners, Hocus Pocus, Sleepwalkers, They Live.

I would not give the sequels credit for making or cementing Michael Myers as a horror icon. He achieved that on the merits of the original, over exposure is not always the answer. None of the sequels helped him and really just offered diminishing returns and turned the iconic shape into another slasher villain. Despite its contrived nature The Return of Michael Myers was a good movie for what it was, but that's all. Then there was an immediate drop off with 5, which is actually kind of bad, then there's 6. H2O was well loved when it was released, for some reason, but now most see it for what it is... generic. Nothing really needs to be said of Resurrection. 2018 I guess you could say was a good start, but we saw how that Ends. The sequels were sold on the popularity from the first, but never really expanded by them. As for your second point. I don't really see that as the case. Yes you can say other horror movies came out, but we'll never know what could have been in place of 4, 5, 6, etc with the production and how it could have evolved.

H20 was part of 4,5,6 the rumors it wasnt only started recently around 2018 to help justify the requel as they already did it. There was a scene cut where Jamie lee Curtis looks at a pic of her daughter Jamie strode. And its canon cause at the beginning you can see Loomis had a photo of the scissors Jamie used on her mom on the wall.

Halloween III is just too ridiculous to me. Not because it doesn't have Michael because a lot of Halloween movies with Michael are awful but the whole plan of the villain is just so convoluted and makes no sense and I just can't suspend my disbelief enough for it. If Halloween III didn't have the Halloween name attached to it, let's be real, it would be a forgotten movie. That said, I think Kills is the worst Halloween III. Kills is just a complete mess. I overall liked the new Halloween trilogy but, honestly, I think it would have worked better if you took Halloween (2018) and worked in the ending from Ends and cut out Kills entirely aside from maybe lifting a few deaths from it.

Because H20 is garbage that people like for some reason. Without even getting into the 25 masks the movie had Its like an episode of Dawson's Creek, your supposed to believe that somehow Dr. Loomis knew that Laurie Strode faked her death(which is a felony), knew where she moved to and where she worked(which is also illegal), then Michael Myers got a car, drove unnoticed from Illinois all the way to California on one tank of gas in a shitbox car. Then that woman obviously never reported the car stolen, or who stole it since they gave you the impression he let them live.

Don't forget, 1998 was also the year we got The Faculty, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, and season 2 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Also, without H20, we wouldn't have Michelle Williams in flicks like Shutter Island, The Greatest Showman, Venom, or The Fabelmans.

At the end of Kills, Laurie’s speech isn’t meant to be taken literally. When she says “The more he kills, the more he transcends into something else, impossible to defeat. Fear. People are afraid. That is the true curse of Michael”, she is saying that the legend of The Boogeyman will never die, even though the man himself, Michael, will eventually die (obviously, this is further explored in Ends with Corey).

I despise H4. Michael Meyers stopped being Michael Meyers and became Jason in a bad version of the Shape mask. He was so much scarier, IMO, as an average sized dude in the first two. That was a big issue for me even in 2018 and KILLS. They finally got the mask right for the first time since the original and he moved right...but he was still a hulking giant. I thought the guy who played MM in the flashback in KILLS looked much closer. But Jeez, George Wilbur looked like Jason in 4 and Fat Jason in 6. And the less said about the Pete Townshend-looking mask from H5, the better.

The story about the mask in H4 was that they got a bunch of the original Shatner masks, but they had to rush production so they had problems with things like the paint in preparing the masks. They fully intended to have them look like the original mask but the strike really killed that.. The shot where you see the blonde Shatner mask in the school is written off as a PA probably just grabbed a mask for the scene, didn't pay attention that it wasn't a finished mask and the production didn't care after they noticed it because it was late.

41:12 Long time fan, first time commenter. Its crazy, but upon my most recent re-watch for Halloween this year, I saw that there is actually dynamite in the ending of Halloween 4! If you look at the guy all the way to the left when the sheriff and others are shooting Michael, you can see him actually lighting a stick of dynamite. I had never noticed this before, but this is also my first watch of the new scream factory 4k release.
