The thing with the Hammer Pump is every single season it’s been in, it’s been outclassed by an auto shotgun that just shreds or a melee weapon that disorients the hammer user. Frenzy, Gatekeeper and the Combat just offer a much better payoff in a short amount of time, and the Chains/Nitro Fists just whack hammer pump users around. It’s not a bad gun, it’s just like many other guns, outclassed by superior, and sometimes broken weapons

The reception to chapter 2 season 5 having the lever was miles better than chapter 2 season 3 with the charge shotgun or chapter 1 season 9 with the combat shotgun. Anything faster than it was considered "spammy" and anything slower than it was just an "inferior pump" and the weapon is actually good for fast edit plays...

Kinda disagree with the thunder shotgun rating. I genuinely think it should either be in high A tier or low/mid S tier. It has half the damage dropoff of the pump shotgun, meaning that it does double its damage at range, and it also has a higher headshot multiplier than the pump. For instance, a grey thunder shotgun would deal 171 headshot damage whereas a green pump did 170 headshot damage. My only complaints about the shotgun are its high ammo usage, and slow reload time. Other than that it's pretty much perfect (I'm quite sure it has a faster pullout time than the pump but don't quote me on that).

The hammer pump is my favorite shotgun of all time because it has a faster pull out time which is useful for box fights but can still be countered if u have a good reaction time like me, because of this pull out time I take the hammer pump over the pump. I also prefer the sharp tooth over the normal pump because the long range was more useful in endgames and to get decent tags to start of a fight, and the sharp tooth is t even that bad compared to the pump with slightly lower damage.
