What Is The Worst WEDDING CEREMONY You Have Attended? Why Was It Bad? #Reddit #AskReddit #Stories

The worst wedding I ever went to: I am going to confidently say it was my cousin's wedding. To start, the groom and bride refused to plan their wedding until a week before. We were told to dress in whatever and casual was the theme. We arrived and the bride was nowhere to be found. This is happening in a friends backyard. The mother of the groom is a control freak and refused to let anyone help her. So she sat there crying and making a mess of what she was doing and there was nothing you could do. There were just a bunch of white tables out across the property. You get to the backyard and see fold out chairs and a large long solid wood "aisle" that you couldn't step on without your heels breaking through. More on that later. The background... they had the aisle and everything's pointing to an adjacent set of backyards instead of overlooking the field and taking advantage of a naturally pretty background for the pictures. And you were facing the sun so nobody could see. We all sit down in our seats around the designated wedding time. Bride was still nowhere to be found. Mother of the groom is still in casual clothes and we discover she still needs to do everything to get ready. My grandfather is handed a pin- I forget what they are called with an actual fishing hook so its literally poking you in every which way. About ninety minutes pass before we finally hear the music and people begin going down the aisle. People in heels busted through the wood. The music is some country songs not even singing about anything romantic. The groom is at the end of the aisle in jeans, a white shirt, guns on their hips, and hair is a mullet, and those live hook pins. All of the groomsmen followed suit in fashion down to the mullets lol. The bride goes down the aisle and is wearing a veil that looks more like the veils you see in funerals, black and all. Cue the ceremony. Grooms niece who is a toddler was allowed to sit through the ceremony. She's shouting "Poop!" the whole time. After the ceremony the groom disappears and the guests are waiting for food. It took them a while to find the groom and after they did, the grooms mother who is running the whole thing insists on pictures before food and nobody is allowed to touch the food until the wedding party does. Everyone had to wait an hour between the ceremony and when pictures were done, but they left the drinks out. People were drinking and getting loose that whole time as they waited with nothing to do. Me and my grandfather almost left and bought ourselves some pizza. After we ate the KFC that was catered, we left that wedding. What was meant to be a redneck themed wedding which could have been cute turned into the most disrespectful and trashy event I have ever seen. It was disrespectful to everyone's time. It was sloppily put together. Your wedding is supposed to be one of the happiest and most beautiful days in your life. This was not beautiful. It was a trainwreck. If I were the bride, I would have been embarrassed and in tears. But hey, she was the one who refused to plan her wedding until the week before and put it up into the mother of the grooms hands. BTW the father of the bride almost did not show up because of the lack of planning and because of shoving it on his wife that close. He warned and accurately predicted the trainwreck. I just didn't think it would be That bad.

Oh and to add, the bride's parents told the groom that if he backed out, they wouldn't blame him... I do not know what she did her last marriage or to her parents, but that is a bad omen.

My cousin didn't speak English and her boyfriend didn't speak Turkish. They were married for 6 years with 3 children before they were both able to speak each other's language. They've been very happily married 21yrs now.

So, did they have a third language in common? If not, how did they get their relationship to work?

Then how did they get to know each other or even propose if neither had any idea what the other was saying..? Sounds fake

I'm just shocked that the bride was so cheap that she wouldn't pay for tables and chairs to accommodate the guests!

What venue doesn't include that?
@melissacooper87242 ай бұрын
@arianebolt1575 I don't know. I always assumed that tables and chairs were included with whatever venue.

I don't know why they used the word "cow" as substitution for the S-word! They could've said "poop" or freaked out.
