That would make sense 🤔 A bomb that not only explodes ONLY when there's a potential sign of another human being near (due to our social nature, sounds in our vicinity is statistically more likely to be another human than anything else), but can both ambulate and explode repeatedly, and all from just viewing a symbol on a surface (it seems to have a preference for walls, but that might just be strategic, as we're more likely to notice it at eye level) would set its security class at high tier Euclid. All it would take to raise it to Keter would then be If the "infected" were somehow compelled to spread the cognitohazard by writing on the walls themselves.

I just have to say, the idea of the burning ears being associated with silence is such a smart idea. I immediately thought of the phrase “my ears are burning” when someone is thought to be talking about you. Having their ears burning while listening for any sound around them fits so well!!!!

The writer on the walls is literally my most favourite entity of all the SCP Foundation. It's the reason why SCP 1730 is my most favourite SCP just because of it. Sadge it's just a supporting character but I'm hoping if DJ Cactus can write a separate SCP for the writer.

1- It also seems that either there's a volume threshold to trigger the explosions or that (which I believe is a much more likely) the pyroclastic reaction is proportional to the volume (dB) of a triggering sound, since a loud sound such as breaching a door (can't remember if it was achieved physically or through a door breaching charge) causes such a powerful reaction (to have a 100% chance to kill ALL MTF Agents AND making such a huge Foundation Site rumble sounds very much like a tactical nuclear weapon level of explosion, a few Kilotons in power at least, not in the dozens as that would have caused structural damage to the whole Site). Affected human subjects could be damaging themselves, probably burning, when barely whispering, while not being loud enough to trigger an explosion. 2- One last observation is that *because the explosions are silent* due to their anomalous nature, *there is no chain reaction* effect like you alluded to.

i like the idea of it being the "warden" writing things everywhere, so that if anything were to escape, the instant it left the area, and was exposed to sound, it goes kaboom......not many humanoid SCP's could survive that, and loads of non humaniod ones too, heck if it didn't become immune to it after the first time, and provided that if it didn't outright kill them, they would still be infected, it might even do in 682....after enough time and explosions anyway, all else fails itd easily be as effective as the acid bath, if not more so....again, provided it even works once, let alone multiple times....

I think they were planning on using it as a weapon of some kind. Plant it in a POI's home, or in the main hall of a Group of Interest, have it write on the walls, and retrieve it and leave the writing. The writing will set off a chain of events that could wipe out organizations like the Serpent's Hand. And since the explosion would destroy the writing, there's no worry about it spreading out of control

This one seems so interesting. I think by the way it used its power, its probably either a neutral or teritorial entity before it got captured. I mean it would be hard to aggresively write on the walls to attacked someone, and its aggresive method pretty much also expose itself, and leave it open for attack. And it would put more on the table of how fucked up site-13 truly is. Doesnt matter if you arent aggresive being or a defensive type of creature that would be easily contained. you will get tortured and possibly terminated

I think it was going to be used in Tandem with the malidrimaguan, with it's silencing ability and fire it feels like the writer would write and turn people into living fire bombs, and the multiple limbed god thing could move about with no issue. But perhaps the writer was some how lobotomized and now this is all it knows or can do.

I think they were going to use the writer's ability to contain memetic anomalies that could spread. There's a GOC document about a meme that erases human language and memory. If you introduced the Writer's cognitive hazards to such an area affected it would also help keep any anomaly that spreads memetically contained easier. Or alternatively it was a weapon so they could have put the cognitohazards in honey pots so groups like the Serpent's Hand, the Chaos Insurgency, Scarlet Hammer, etc. Would find a document they think has relevant information. Share it with their leadership, and then before you know it you have bombed out Most of your enemy

I think this would be a fantastic trap for altruistic groups of interest like the Serpent's Hand. GoIs who prize compassion or loyalty would not want to leave one of their own behind. The Hand basically consider freeing captive entities one of their primary goals, a group like that isn't going to leave someone behind and they might not have the sort of discipline an MTF has. Once an MTF knows what they're up against and that its a matter of survival to do so, they will kill an entity that poses a direct threat to them. They go through a rigorous training including martial discipline. As soon as the Foundation knew how this thing worked its threat was greatly diminished. However, the only barrier to joining the Serpant's Hand is basically to ask to join them. I suspect they'd be a lot like a fantasy version of the Railroad from Fallout 4, only with far less paranoia as the Library is far less vulnerable to destruction and damage and its far harder to find a single person in there. They don't have advanced sensors that can catch cognitohazards before they're exposed to them and they don't have containment procedures laying out an entity's weakpoints and how to take them out. If you were a member of the Hand and you saw one of your comrades sitting in a field with their ears burning, refusing to speak, odds are good you're gonna try to save them. And unless the person affected knew sign language, I highly doubt the shhhhh ing is going to be recognized as a warning that that person is a threat.

This one is easily one of my favourite SCP creatures. Both its design and the concept of its abilities just fascinate me. I wonder if it could do other things with its writing, like make things imperceptible by marking it with a cognitohazard that causes your mind to be unable to take conscious note of it, in a similar fashion to the cap that LS of the Serpent's Hand used to steal SCP-407 (Song of Genesis) from the Foundation? If this was the case; you could put the symbols on a bedsheet, cover a doorway or object, and they could be hidden in plain sight, and only those who have either been inoculated against this particular cognitohazard or have the tech to block it could find them.

The fact that it's flesh made me think about when day breaks and now i want to see a version of site 13 before it you know exited reality or even after in the midle of when day breaks because i want to know what all these anomolies both strong enough to survive in the site but not so strong they are impossible to contain in one place would do like we know whatever the liquid that liquid that kinda transported peoples body parts in to another dimension but they still are kinda there but invisible or the leech or like imagine a flesh monster walking in to the site seeing a symbol being quiet and exploding without a sound or maybe the flesh absorbing the sludge from the dead anomolies maybe even getting some of the memories or powers of those because if leech kid could have left enough anomoly into it to survive and cause a site wide problem so big that they actually had to move the site to a space between time and space and it just ended up somewhere else and there are so many other cool interactions with the entities from site 13 and the flesh... also makes me think if the scp foundation finds the leech kid wonder how they would react? Or the writer or any other entity that isn't on the wiki but was in site 13 now i'm just excited to see people write about the weird liquid and where it came from because it probably exists somewhere because we know of one being that wasn't in site 13 that still had simular properties to what the liquid does and then there also is the curiosity of what the original power of the writer is because it has to have some less dangerous properties it just doesn't use because it sees everything as an enemy because of the cruel experimentation then how did the leech survive because you wouldn't expect a single person to make the whole site be full of leeches and how did the mass of liquid revive it because it makes sense how it got so strong since there was such a massive amount of anomoly blood down there oh wonder what the rest of the foundation in the site 13 universe was like maybe they juat continued after that whole mess like nothing happened or changed their ways NOW I'M JUST EXCITED AT HOW MANY MORE POSSIBILITIES THIS HAS FOR STORY TELLING THAN JUST THE ORIGINAL STORY
