Damn takes me back 😭 I first listened to this album in 2015. I remember being so enthralled by her voice and the production, entirely different from the kind of music I was listening to at the time. She's been so influential for me, in so many aspects. I'm glad you're enjoying her early music! I's not appreciated enough 😕 Also great review! Can't wait to see your videos on her other albums 😌

Thank you 🙏🏽 Yeah especially during that time, I never heard anything like it when I heard “Two weeks” the way she incorporates her voice to enhance the production is other worldly. Yes I like to go back to the beginning, want to see where artists start and see their growth!

I woke up drunk, Pendulum video was playing, felt like heaven. I was hooked. Next day got my friend hooked. We never looked back.

Lmao it probably would’ve scared me, waking up in confusion. Dope to put a friend on this and then actually liking it too, especially cause how experimental it is. Thank you for watching🙏🏽

I became a fan of hers with the release of Magdalene but went back into her discography and just fell in love with her artistic style of making music. Caprisongs is a complete banger and the easiest for new listeners but I respect you starting from the beginning.
@elvideoentertainment Жыл бұрын
Yeah she is all about her craft, you can really tell, can’t wait to get to Magdalene. I can tell with “Tears in the club” that album might be more accessible, but I like to start from the beginning and see how an artist progress

Great reaction!!! video girl is about her past as a back up dancer, she used to do work for artists like Jessie J and Kylie Minogue. When transitioning into the music space she was always asked “are you the girl from the Jessie J video” to which she would reply with “no”. She would deny since she was trying to find an identity outside of dance (hence the “i cant recognise me” line!). Can’t wait to see you react to the rest of her discography!
@elvideoentertainment Жыл бұрын
That makes sense, not wanting just to be just the person for 1 thing, wanting to be so much more and be recognized for it. Yeah I can’t wait to get to Magdalene, people always talk about it. Thank you for watching🙏🏽

Thank you for listening to fka twigs. She’s such an inspiration. There’s so much passion in what she creates, whether it’s her music, dancing, performing, or videos. I’m excited for you to listen to M3LL155X. The videos for that project are wild, too.

Yes! She’s very meticulous in her art, everything has a purpose, and that should always be applauded and encouraged. Thank you for watching!

You should definitely react to Kelela- Take Me Apart album. A little similar to Fka twigs and Bjork also produced by Arca but a little more r&b than electric (vocal wise too) it was one of Pitchfork's best albums of 2017

@@freezingpoints There were many people including herself, ARCA and others like Emilie Haynie who works with Lana and Paul Epworth who worked with Adele and Florence... but I meant that she also produces herself in general which is iconic.

Im so glad you enjoyed the experimental aspects of this album! If youre planning on doing arca id either recommend starting with her kick series (kick 1 - 5) or beginning at self titled (arca) as that is considered one of her best albums and provides insight into her artistry before the kick series as well as context for the shift in sound after self titled!
@elvideoentertainment Жыл бұрын
Oou I didn’t even think of that, I didn’t know there was more. Thank you for the guidance, starting from Arca makes sense cause I also want to hear the switch myself
