Pretty sure I can do this. I at least can do a very very similar sounding bass without the gritty-whistle type sound. I think it's a very airy chest bass with both the mouth and nose open and the gritty whistle comes from the nasopharynx or upper throat type area. I could be wrong

I was thinking the bass with the high overtone might be throat whistle plus chest bass/growl. I experimented with the combination a few times and got something similar (but a bit weaker, because my throat whistle and growl are not too strong)
