My does cheek swelled up bigger than that this week. Vet said it looks like something sharp pierced her cheek and got stuck. Maybe a piece of thistle, etc in the hay. She's getting penicillin for a week and a few days of pain meds with anti inflammatory in it. Its gone down a bit after a few days.

I have had something similar to what your experiencing on your goat but it was on his shoulder. We gave him some anti- bodies, and its gone down but still is there. Not sure if this helped but thought I would tell you.

The goats look beautiful and I cannot wait to see what they produce this year, Legend is amazing, I absolutely love him, by far perhaps my favorite of your herd lol. I haven't experienced any of my goats having tooth issues but as always happens, I am sure one day I will so learning from you and your audience is always appreciated. I just had a tooth abcess with my Nubian, i had my vet out. we laid on her and used a 16 gauge needle and and drew out puss- and injected 1cc LA200 at the site, and again the next day and it cleared up. i gave her probias for a few days to keep her gut right

So on the topic of testing? Will you test for anything else? the main thing I think of is CAE,, since from my understanding CL tests are very iffy. We run a full panel on our animals, (CAE, CL, Q-fever, & Tox. ) so we can have that piece of paper and the Assurance of a clean herd. We have 21. And test Bi-yearly. Just curious on that, bc I'd love to try and get a kid form y'all someday. ♡

I had a mysterious bump show up on my goats jaw and I was extremely worried but I took her to the vet. The vet cut it open and turned out to be a bot fly larvae. In Kansas its very uncommon to have bot flies but of course that's my luck LOL

I’m fairly new here. I did see you lost your grandma. Losing out parents old and you is a hard reality we all face one day. I was 17 when my mamaw died. That was a hard one. Hardly a day goes by, that I don’t thing about her. I’m older now. I bring this up because I’m older than she was when she died Turning 70 last April was a wide eyed awakening for me. But this is the price we all have to pay. Some sooner than other’s. You two have a #Awesome channel. I look forward to seeing y’all daily. I’m working hard to catch up. So very sorry about grandma. I lost my dad on Thanksgiving morning 15 years ago. It seems extra hard when a loved one passes near or on a holiday. We'll keep your family lifted in prayers. I would enjoy seeing more videos! However, I'm in awe how you do 1 a week. On Ruby it looks like it could be Bottle Jaw, it’s usually caused by a heavy parasite burden. Ask the Vet how to properly worm since she’s pregnant snd because killing them off too quickly can kill your doe.

I wish there were devices for looking in goat mouths like they have for horses. Very hard to check goat cheeks and molars without risking your fingers. My guess is retained cud, bad tooth or salivary gland infection. If she is a about 2 years old, she might be losing her baby molars and getting her 2 year molars in. The bullying is a likely cause also. Headbutting at the feed bowl has resulted in bumps in my goats. Those bumps resolve on their own quickly. Infected salivary glands required antibiotics. I had the cheeks lumps tested for CL and were negative. I see it was a year ago. How did it turn out? The blood test for CL is not very reliable. It has a high rate of both false negatives and false positives.

If you can grab the doe's tongue and pull it to one side, she won't bite. Use a gauze 4 by 4 so you can get a good grip. Two helpers is good, especially if one holds really bright flashlight for you. I am guessing your vet would advise that you bring her in and give her a bit of sedation so she relaxes - enough for an exam. Good call on testing the herd for CL. Peace of mind is worth it. Good luck!

Lucky acts so much like Ringo from IMA survivor donkey and animal sanctuary. Always have to have the most dominate male for sure. He was fixed back in March and he relaxed a little.
