I'm usually scratching my head on most of the items but today I got them all except the mystery item at the end and the can sealer, but I did guess that it was a sheet metal crimper so I was close. I wouldn't have known the fire hose game, but there used to be one of those set up by the old fire department for a couple decades. Now back to my usual level of head scratching and then saying "ah, of course, I should have known that one".

When you said that the item had been in a tinsmith's shop, I guessed it had to do with cans/canning, but didn't precisely guess that it was a sealer. Still....not bad for a cold guess. 😄 I now want to see if I can find a less fancy version of the casserole spoon rest. That looks so helpful! 🙂

@@jeffreyyoung4104 Yep, exactly. I have a Victorian era Sears Roebuck catalogue that sells it for stopping night emissions. Hospitals and institutions used to make patients wear them. I guess to cut down on laundry costs and cut down the sounds of pleasure. Probably the only pleasure an institutionalized man could have. It was barbaric to do that to people who were completely helpless.

A few days ago I was working a.crossword puzzle and the clue was an Asian navigational device. The answer was "Luopan", first time I've encountered that word that I know of. Now here it is again! How weird. I got the canning device correct because I have a later model that is similar. I have lots of old stuff, I love old non electric tools because I live off-grid. I was going to try canning with this but I don't trust it the way I can trust glass jars with new seals.
