Those of us who watched TV in the 60s recognized the old crank phone box! In shows like "Petticoat Junction" and "Green Acres" they often used those phones in scenes as a way to indicate that these were really backwards country places. In reality, I don't think anyone was still using a crank phone in the 60s! I remember in Alfred Hitchcock show and movies, actors often used candlestick phones even though those had been replaced long before by rotary dial phones. In our house (built in late 1940s) we had a black celluloid box bolted to the wall with the ominous warning embossed on it, "PROPERTY OF SOUTHWESTERN BELL" and dire consequences for tampering. It contained a bell for the phone, and it was really loud. My parents paid rent for that bell every month on their phone bill and weren't allowed to just buy the thing. Rent wasn't much, probably like 25 cents per month, but it was a way phone companies nickel and dimed people even back then. It was just a box with a loud jangly bell, hardwired into the wall! Not only could we hear it ring when we were outside, neighbors several doors down could probably hear that damn thing too!

As a reenactor, I recognized the betty lamp right away. There were single-wick versions, too. Similar lamps made of terracotta were common throughout the Roman Empire and beyond as well. The steam cabinet/sauna is neat. They were popular as reducing cabinets in America in the early 20th century. You can sometimes see them in comedy movies or cartoons of the period. In the cartoons, you would usually see a large character, such as a pig, enter the cabinet, and come out much smaller later.

As for that last object, in Metal Detectorist slang, it's a "leaverite". As in "Leave 'er right there.". Basically, rusted junk.

The generator/bell unit is more likely an old "ringer" electrical circuit tester used to check continuity. Typically circuit continuity is now tested using an ohmmeter. Back in the early days the hand cranked generator and bell unit was used to test continuity. The circuit to be tested was connected to the screw terminals on the outside of the box and then the generator crank was operated. If the circuit was complete the bell would ring. It was at one time common for electricians to say they were going to "ring out the circuit" even if an ohmmeter was going to be used. "Ring out" was a holdover from when the bell test unit like was shown in this video were used to check equipment.

I have to agree, if it was a phone box, it would have the bells on the outside, not inside. As a continuity tester, it could be used to check long wires, like electric fences and even the telephone lines!

@@jeffreyyoung4104 Good point! I was wondering why the bells would be inside the box since every crank phone I've ever seen had the bells on the outside. Mystery solved!

That last item looks like an old ship/boat capstan . Capstan on wooden sailing ship/boat was man operated to hoist up anchor or main sail . Being that it was found near water ( shoreline ) could be item from a ship .

The item with telescoping rods is a pocket coat hanger. I have my grandfather's and they were popular when only pegs were available in hotel rooms and boarding houses.

The 4 brass rings, i dont believe those are cigarette snuffers, i think they are napkin rings, every snuffer ive seen has a solid bottom not a through hole.

I have a cigarette snuffer and it has a hole right through it. Also having the snuffer blocked at one end would make it much harder to clean out.

I guess it would depend on their gauge. Without a measurement it's hard to tell from the photos. I thought they were for napkins too and I used to sell cigars for a living.

3:15 Ghosts clearly predate electronics. Ghost hunters also likely predate electronics. It looks to me like one of the early ghostbusters’ devices.
