Allow me to dumb it down for you: The warning label on rat poison contains truth. This is why you would never eat rat poison. Because you understand it to contain truth. And you're right, the fact that you don't see this shows that we're not on the same page. And thanks for promising to let me get the last word in!

Yep. And notably this applies to larger multi-dimensions of reality as well to unidimensional or man-made constructions of reality (e.g., rat poison) :-). You can "dumb the message down" to any simple example beyond the quarter in your pocket which Callas gives as an example -- just as long as you don't reduce the multi-dimensions of reality to any merely man-made construction (e.g. rat poison, quarter in your pocket, ad infinitum). Nothing wrong with More Examples, as long as these are not taken to exclude the multiple dimensions of relations & of human experience to which Dallas refers as relevant to human life yesterday, tomorrow, and now...

So before I can understand if your statement is true or not, I need to poll all the people in my community in order to interpret the meaning of your sentences? Whatever the majority interpretation is then becomes truth (which by definition is aligned with reality and therefore reality is not established until the community consensus is reached). So if they decide that your sentences mean that you think truth is absolute, then in reality, you actually think truth is absolute? Why post anything?

By that sophist logic, what you said is no more true than what he said, so they both have just the same potential to be truth. Given that your brand is a little depressing, I'll take his. It seems to be more sensible and not designed to be a confusing paradox.

The worst thing that has happened to most churches today is the people they choose for their Shepperd's have been trained in the religious institutions and have no call of God on them. If you think I`m full of hot air just look at the sad state of our country today and how irrelevant most churches have become.

Listen, I never claimed to "own the market" when it comes to truth. I'm not claiming or really even trying to define what truth is. No, he's a confusing paradox. My statement is backed a great philosopher named: Wittgenstein. I'd take his word for it over Willards......

Your lack of comprehension is no longer worth the argument. I said "truth" does NOT have an extra-linguistic property to it. Your poor example is evidence to the fact that were not on the same page. I will no longer respond....

First, your logic is flawed. Second, who in actuality goes around polling a community. What I'm saying is that the truth's we take for granted: scientific and factual statements about the world must and do exist only because they follow the conventions and rules of a particular community: Scientific, medical, biological, law, etc.... Third, the word truth has no extra-linguistic connection to objects or reality, we decided. Fourth, Give an example of a real truth not decided by the community

Just a rambling disambiguation on what the elusive truth might be. He's trying like most people to associate a substantive (truth) with a thing. In reality truth has multiple meanings and most commonly is just used in a sentence as a tool. The main thing is that truth in essence is based on what the community deems to be true. It is a man made construct and is dependent on the linguistic community that one belongs to. There is nothing extralinguistic about truth. It's based on agreement.

This is an excerpt of Willard's talk. If you want to understand what he's saying, I recommend listening to the whole lecture. He's looking at the general definition of truth and and how our culture accepts authority. If your assessment of truth is correct, than that would imply that your explanation is arrogant and rather assuming, by suggesting that your definition is reality in a world in which you admit, it is purely based on one's cultural framework. In other words, according to your theory, you are a Western white supremacist by suggesting that YOUR subjective truth is the only truth. Now, I'm curious, is your standard based on what you've learned from other people or did you do your own research for this?
