What exactly is Vanatru? Let's explore some quick notions to perceive the general panorama of this contemporary neo-pagan religion.
Ps: My apologies for the "metal birds". There are bloopers by the end of this video.

In my studies of the Norse deities, I've never really felt a connection with the Aesir deities. I felt more drawn to the Vanir. Now imagine my surprise to discover that the Vanir are closely associated with Sweden...which is where my family immigrated from in the mid-1800's. Thanks Arith for this video and so many of your other videos that I thumbs up but didn't comment on. Many Blessings to you!

The great thing about these videos is the impartiality with how they are presented. If it is your opinion then you make it clear, otherwise you just stick to the facts and what we know. I respect that. This is my favourite pagan history/information KZbin channel bar none. I would love for you to produce a video on the celts of the iberian peninsular and maybe a series on the gods of the ancient celts. I believe it would be fantastic.

Indeed there was a clash in there - Nature vs Human Society and I was caught in-between! lol. @ Arith, Greetings. First of all, congratulations always for the channel, careful in the words meticulously chosen to explain the contents and the extreme didactic principles for such. Here on the island of Marajó Pará Brazil there are the enchanted and the whirl... a lot of symbolism and PAJELANÇA, umbanda, quilombola and indigenous cults, etc. Do you believe that these practices are almost contemporary and timeless, especially indigenous ones? please answer that and especially if you are the basis or the first generation of animism? perhaps before animism itself since records before the iron age or even fire here do not exist or those that do exist have not been dated. what do you say? hugs. Indeed the process of making a video takes a very long time. From the research until the final edition it's a very very long process. On this particular videos I was there for an hour because I couldn't stand the noise anymore, but some videos take longer than others. THe process of research takes longer. For instance, when I did the videos about Baldr, the research took half a year. I plan on eventually do a video about Ymir and also Ullr, and the research on those two already took an entire year. But it is the final work that counts hehe.

I live near a place called Ölmstad and don´t take my word for it but i know i´ve read somewhere that the name originates from Ullr, so it was probably ullstad or ullrstad back then, seems quite likely since there are bronze- and iron age graves in the area and also a hillfort not far away. There is a place called Hullaryd also quite close, not sure but it sounds pretty much like it stems from Ullr.
