At the beginning before the music, I believe I heard: " If this doesn't work, I'm going to punch a baby". 10/10 quote 2015.

I would say that hook happens when the lowest shooting string is excessively tight to the point that it limits the rolling of the ball more than the mesh, thus causing the ball to "catch" on the shooter and become stuck for a certain amount of time. Anyway, great video, and very good job encompassing all categories of whip!

Great vid! I'd love to hear your guys thoughts on the perfect balance of whip / consistency. You mentioned that with catch, you'll be able to shoot hard, but passing will be a challenge. Is there a way to have a whippy, but still consistent stick? Or is that an oxymoron?

Awesome video very informative. I don't string personally but my twin bro has been sine we started playing ;ironically he only plays with traditional but that's another story. My main question was I noticed in the video you had a stx surgeon on a Ecd carbon when explaining Slope. I was wondering if there was any chance at getting the sidewall pattern.i personally use the surgeon 10 and love it, but that pocket looked pretty nice and wanted to try it out.

Awesome video! I've strangely had a decent amount of the stringings I've done recently be requested with some lip. They say they like the feel of the little click at the top so they know where the ball is going when the shoot/pass. I've personally always hated lip and found it weird purposefully putting lip in sticks but it got me thinking about if there are any advantages to it?

MaxLaxStrings One of the biggest complaints I had with my stringings in college was that they couldn't feel the ball coming out, which is why we moved to the double stacked StringKing nylons on our pockets. I highly suggest trying that first.

Can I get the pattern for that rabil HS or a link to a video with it in it, I can't seem to get a good channel to pocket height ratio with the one I'm using.

Great video, but im just curious, what do u think is the best 'whip set up' for when it is raining or if u r using a greaser, so when the ball is slippery
@dannysummer35669 жыл бұрын
The drag idea. I use it in all my sticks and it really keeps that ball in there to give power and accuracy but not holding it too Long. Also I have a shooter set up I use that really gives a lot of feel and power when the ball comes out. Go 3-4 diamonds down then put in a double nylon then skip a diamond the do 2 shooters right next to each other . This with the drag kills it with any ball in any weather

What if you have a low pocket is having a lot of whip good.
@chriskerwin39046 жыл бұрын
I think it's actually simpler than you describe. You basically have two factors controlling how the ball comes out of the head. The angle at which the ball rolls off the mesh and any impediments to the mesh behaving completely naturally as the ball rolls off the mesh. All of the things you listed fall into one or both of those categories.
@mainelymesh6 жыл бұрын
Keep in mind that this is being catered to stringers, and by simplifying everything two just two categories you risk not giving young stringers the ability to identify what they need to change to lessen the whip in their stick. That was the goal of this video. So while I don't necessarily disagree with you, we were trying to go into as much depth as possible.
@chriskerwin39046 жыл бұрын
Yeah, certainly. All I was thinking was that the physics of it is actually rather simple.

My stick has a loose/wide channel, and doesn't have a steep slope, and my shooting strings are perfect and still when I throw, the ball goes straight down. How do I fix this???
@blue_caduceus5925 жыл бұрын
G SAHAK Where's your pocket location? High pocket? Mid? Low? How low is your lowest lace shooter? You might want to put your shooters higher up on the mesh and tighten them a little bit.

Paul Rabil has his pocket more up top. My pocket is at the ball stopper. Does that effect my shooting

Conley Mckay no, you just have a low pocket the 5 pocket types affect your play type
