The roof weighs very little. You could get some 2'' by 4''s and build a temporary wall 1m or so in. Thus holding the roof whilst working and not needing to remove all the panels off. Just a thought!!!!! 🙂

Build yourself a temporary timber wall in front of bad gable end. Take down faulty wall rebuild correctly, take down timber wall rinse and repeat as required. If it rains you only have one end to cover. Out of the darkness comes light good luck.

The roof probably doesn't weigh very much, it looks like the roof is resting on longitudinal steel beams, can you jack up the beams one by one (using a car jack and 2"x4") and insert temporary support underneath, tear down the concrete wall and rebuild it and then lower the roof down onto the new wall?

Having lived (and married) in Portugal, I can say that you can't always depend on the help of family and friends (even if it's been promised). And yes, I know it can happen anywhere, but I have Portuguese friends who don't talk to eachother after having let eachother down.

The sensible thing to do is take it off and start over, trying to patch up shit work will take longer cost more and be more difficult. Glad to hear she is feeling better and it looks and sounds like you guys are starting to get it sorted out and coming up with a plan to fix it

There is a silver lining in your comments Jasper! It is that the new roof plumber is saying the right things like setting the rafters into the gables which must give you confidence that he at least knows his trade. It would be interesting to know how he would respond to seeing how the roof sheet had been cut!

I saw a home in a an expensive commune in Provence. The authorities allowed a local build a home with zero experience & doing it via Google. What resulted was a roof with a high pitch which flooded his neighbour, drainage that had no sump but went straight into the main drainage & when heavy rains came the stench was horrible. The list of building irregularities were incredible & also against the laws allowed to permanently store all building materials on the road. There are bd builders everywhere.

silicone lube or silicon grease - is the stuff to use - made for sliding the pipes in to each other - some say washing up liquid deteriorates the rubber rings

Maybe you will have to take the metal plates off and do some measurements to see if everything is square and flat and plane. For lubrication you should add water so everything gets slippery. Not putting it pure only on the rubber ring, but on the whole part that has to go in the female end.

oooo jasper just a thought and its only a suggestion, where you go for your walk with the girls and the road floods is that road your property ? if so could you use carina's rubble to lay on the mud road, it will give drainage and also create hardcore for the road itself. if the old builder doesnt replace the stuff he took, could you actually do him for stealing ? as technology he's stolen the materials carina bought

there are still good contractors around and they are busy with clients lined up. sometimes the cheap brings some things attached with it, one of which is trouble. get professional help only for things that need complicated technical expertise, the rest is fair game to try and do yourself. kom op, jonge, dit is niet moeilijk. 😜 stay strong 🤠😎

I like that you're thinking of ways around this monumental cockup, but it might be advisable to get confirmation of the legalities of your ideas. The more i watch your videos, the more i think i would try to sure up the existing roof to make it watertight, then start again in spring. Having said that, the Portuguese expression "mês de abril, águas mil" comes to mind, though I'm sure you'll get some good weather beforehand.

Ok....Dont try to salvage this. Everything was done wrong and the entire weight is on the ledge. No fixing that. The entire things should come down. And rebuilt correctly. Save the damaged panels. But you need a proper roof. Put up scaffolding and blue plastic tarp and take the entire roof off. And the block too. And rebuild it from scratch otherwise you will have serious issues and leaks and damp. No way around it. Save material for a garage or something....

(1) Why don't you try heating the outside of the larger pipes? (2) Put the curved joint on the other pipe from inside the wall, THEN get the angle, THEN join them together.(?)

They didn't even do the block right. Take it all down...do the block right. Off the ledge...take it full height and put another room up there, and them Proper ceiling rafters and entire new roof. Everything is resting on the ledge, to brace is a mistake. Too much weight. It will sag, crack and give way Better to do it right. New rafters and then new roof. The panels are done...

My only thoughts are that EVERY job takes longer than originally thought. You have no tools to do the job and no materials yet. Probably better to wait for the new builder to feel confident he can do the job with extra time in case things take longer without worrying about if he can get the roof watertight before a lot of rain comes??

What people don’t realise is no builder will fix another builder mistake, they will start all over for sure. And Christmas is 1 and half week away, and in Portuguese culture basically builders stop until new year. So or they wait or they start themselves! Other thing: Stop asking about her family! If your family is perfect good for you, many aren’t! People has their own lives and work and problems that maybe is not possible at the moment to help her, so stop the bullying towards her family or her! Jasper has the ability to do it but bear in mind is a hard work and he’ll need extra paid help, yet again the period they’re in it! Also Jasper has the Ghost town and can’t be away for so long for many reasons already explained here in the past! They don’t live around the corner that he can pop in and out as wished, so pay attention to the videos! Anyway Jasper and Karina, hope the builder can give you a time frame and hopefully he’ll feel your sorrow and pain and help as soon as possible ❤

I'm in the States, and things are coming out into the open about what has occurred to society (around the world) for a long, long time. We are heading into law and order.
