idk if it's just my earbuds but some of these basses feel like they're invading/infiltrating my brain (triangle especially!)
@xmysef4920 Жыл бұрын
I think one reason might be because the triangle wave is not a perfect triangle wave. It has a smaller amount of digital ”steps” (which is why it kind of looks like a staircase) and that tends to generate extra high-pithced harmonics.
@existenceispain_geekthesiren Жыл бұрын
@@xmysef4920 while that may be a contributing factor, that seems to happen with all triangle waves? they're just weird like that
@xmysef4920 Жыл бұрын
@@existenceispain_geekthesiren well it could also just be that clean triangle waves generally have high-end harmonics too. Maybe your brain expects a sine wave (since it sounds closest to one and looks like one) but it ends up feeling a little odd because of the added harmonics (even in clean signals)

0:45-0:47 i recognize this one bit for some reason? I don't know from where, though, it's going to be annoying me now. edit three weeks later: I figured it out. It's from the living tombstone song for five nights at freddy's. I don't know WHY I know that song, but it's in my head now, and now I'm gonna be thinking of it every time I listen to this.

@@matthehat you're right, but I don't think that's where I recognize it from. It actually seems to be the whole of 0:43-0:47, though especially that one bit, that I recognize. Are you able to extend the Sunsoft bass? Ik that it has a limited time on it before it forces itself out of existence, but are you able to extend it? Kinda like how you can't hear the entire Genesis bass without any further extraction, but it rings out on its own until it becomes silent smoothly and not abruptly like the Sunsoft bass does. That's basically my only criticism of the Sunsoft bass, it abruptly stops when it tries to do a long note and it just can't. So, I'm wondering if you're able to somehow extend it.
