Thanks a lot for the video. I currently connect PBI to Onedrive Excel as we want several people to update the data behind PBI. We all know refresh like this is super slow. I am thinking to make use of new Fabric to improve this. Is it possible to create something like "flow" to load this Onedrive Excel to Fabric (Eg OneLake) regularly at interval and use PBI to connect to it then leverage Fabric new capability to run the refresh a lot quicker ? If so pls help to point to what functions and where in Fabric I should use ? Do I need to load to Lakehouse or just Data Warehouse ? and to get the new compression and faster experience of processing do I need to upgrade Pro license to PPU or even Org premium in order to enjoy it ? Thanks a lot

Hello friend, Thanks for watching and your question. I think the best thing to look at for your scenario would be the new and improved dataflows that are offered as a part of the Fabric infrastructure in the Data Factory and Power BI experience. This will give you a familiar look and feel to working in the Power Query Editor and allow you to cleanse and move your data from your Excel sheets in OneDrive to Power BI. When you make the connection utilizing something like a lakehouse to load the data in would take advantage of the OneLake storage and allow you to use the DirectLake connection to get better performance on your connections in Power BI to the data. This license type would require a Fabric capacity and an F SKU license to take advantage of the lakehouse architecture as well as Power BI Pro license to access the data.

@@austinlibal Thanks a lot for pointing me to the direction. I created dataflow and then found when I use PBI to load such dataflow, it cannot be used in Query or modification or add additional steps (ie cannot do Tranform), but can only be treated as final table to supply to visual only. Is this normal or I am missing something ? As what I need is Process A is to ingest data from Onedrive Excel to Fabric F2 Capacity to enhance performance of this "base Part A", and then get reused for further transformation on this Part A (which could be Part B, Part C, D,... etc). ie the final table to feed to various PBI files could be source of A+B, A+C, A+D, etc etc. But now I cannot make even A+B, can be just A alone then final. What could I do ? Thanks
