In regards to 2:38. It must be truly an emotional heartbreaking moment for a pro F1 driver to come back to their team after destroying the racecar, feeling like a complete failure. But of course, the team understands that crashes happen, and that they just want to see their driver return safe and in one piece. Because remember guys, the drivers represent the WHOLE TEAM so imagine the pressure they feel? Must be immense. I have nothing but admiration for these great athletes and yes, everyone makes mistakes.

Right before it happens, he was talking to his team, saying something was wrong with tyre, then he just curses loud when suddenly the entire thing goes apart, resulting big hit to the barrier.

In the older days I was within 20 meters of 2 Major shunts. I was on the photo tower at the Queens hairpin when Clay Regazzoni had his accident at Long Beach in 1980. And in Las Vegas when Patrick Tambay had his accident in 1981. What I remember most about the Regazzoni accident is the sound as the Ensign hit the Brabham, the wall, and then the silence. For the Tambay accident I remember the wait for the car to hit the wall. It was long enough for me to tell my brother, who was looking somewhere else, "There's going to be a big one." Earlier in the lap Tambay and Andrea De Cesaris had collided. Unknown to anyone Tambays skirt had been damaged. When he reached the high speed side of the track he had no downforce. The back end let go and the car went into the wall. I have a picture of him sideways with his head turned towards the approaching wall. I watched the explosion but didn't take a picture. In my mind i can still see the big ball of dust and the tires flying in the air. I have a picture of him sitting in what's left of the car. There is no front. It is truly amazing that he stood up and hopped away. It's on KZbin, take a look. Sorry, I guess I needed to tell a story.
