When i was young my grandmothers yard was like this i still have memories of it till this day. Beautiful bonzai tree’s and beautiful manicured short japanese grass and fruits trees and terraced areas with beautiful hand made stone statues and towers made by my great grandfather. My great grandfather moved from japan to hawaii as a child with his parents and whos father was an iaido master so i had my ancestors samurai armor on display in the house.

*INSPIRING TRUE LIFE STORY FOR EVERYONE* *I grew up living with my uncle, i do not even think i live with my parents for 1 year, as you should have imagined there are so many limitations to how i can enjoy myself as i am not their son so there’s a lot of don’t and do (chores) but i do not let that hinder my journey because I always work towards how i will go to school and have a bright future, now i have sponsored myself and graduated from college and after so many WHITE COLARS JOB I’ve come to realize that *Online Business* is what i have passion for so presently am trying all my possibilities to grow it as am starting with KZbin. According to ancient Tamil language. samurai means, protectors duelling face to face with equally. Ninja means 'dirty'. Which means fighting in a dirty way. And I am really excited to see so many tamil words and culture in Japan as well.

I appreciate what Tu Lam is trying to do, and what the Mulligan Brothers are attempting, however please stop using him to discuss anything related to the samurai. Sadly, his ideas are full of romantic and inaccurate fantasy, based in no actual education about the subject in the slightest. Samurai were not, by and large, associated with Zen at all (the Yagyu being a notable exception), Zen simply means "meditation", Shinto absolutely DOES NOT mean "to serve God", "bushido" didn't exist when the samurai did, his translation of the term bears almost no resemblance to the actual word, the whole garden thing is grossly misunderstood and misrepresented, and far, far more. There is no accurate information in this video at all.

Analyzing it is very different from living and experiencing it. The warriors way is not exclusive to Japan and my sense is he’s not here to teach a history class. Your mileage may vary.

So easy to criticize when you haven't walked in his shoes. This man did the most brutal training on the planet. Have u? Children die in war and it hurts so much and the sensationalize it on TV. But they never tell u that child has 1 lb of plastique in a backpack. Only a piece of shit would judge this man

Bushido definitely existed when the samurai did. Shinto means “the way of the gods”. One can interpret it as “to serve gods” Samurai were about a balanced warrior. Not just courage and fighting. Only in sengoku period. Meji and especially Edo period valued tranquility and zen within their Bushido. You’re misguided friend.
@budomelbourne6122
@budomelbourne6122 5 ай бұрын
@@awseko4732. No, it didn't. Nitobe believed he invented the word in 1904 when he wrote his book "Bushido: The Soul Of Japan" for Westerners. Shinto does mean "the way of the gods/kami/spirits". It has no meaning of "serving". You have no idea about what samurai were about. For one thing, we're talking over 800 years of history, a wide variety of domains, with different cultures, values, and expectations, so you simply can't. The Meiji restoration (Meiji Period) marked the end of the samurai, so there were none in that time, not sure what you're talking about there, and some samurai engaged with Zen practice in the Edo period, but that was far from the majority (the Yagyu were the biggest proponents of it, but they were the outlier in that sense). You're not misguided, you're simply wrong, friend.
@awseko4732
@awseko4732 5 ай бұрын
@@budomelbourne6122 Well Nitobe was wrong. It existed and was used well before him. First known use of the word was in the sengoku period and the ideas of it were in early development in the kamakura period. Meaning is more than a translation from japanese to english. Shinto translated means way of the gods but Shinto itself involes kami worship, rituals and offerings, harmony with nature and the kami festivals to honor local kami. All of this is service to the gods. Samurai didn’t disappear overnight in the Meji period. They just lost their privileges but there morals and code didn’t disappear. Bushido has always been something to strive for, not what the majority of samurai were. Samurai were largely flawed and imperfect but they knew what to strive for. Zen practice was definitely something that made a samurai have higher social status. You’re the perfect example of the dunning kruger effect. You’re spouting level 1 information without showing any depth of comprehension WHILST having extreme confidence in your knowledge.
