Thanks for the video, it helps me feel better and gives me peace of mind. My girlfriend asked for space because of family issues and stress at work,, her brother died due to accident and she blame herself, then this year her father committed suicide because of their issues in their family., its been 3months when she asked for space. I tried to contact her twice just to check up on her and still, she said she wants and need to focus on ourselves for a while, im not pressuring her or showing any drama or weakness like begging or complaining, i just let her have her space. I just need some encouragement in my situation, im thriving to better myself in this space that we have, but sometimes i cant hold the pain. Hoping someday she'll come back. I feel everybody in these comments. My woman told me she needed a break but we can tex each other but not all the time. It's so hard to give them space but I give her space. And then yesterday. I picked up my son from my exs house and took him for a haircut and then my woman calls me and asked me where are you at and if. I wanted to hangout at Tjmax. I said ok when I get there she gives me a kiss and a hug. I asked her are you in love with me she said Yes. And then I asked do you want to still be with me she said yes. Not always. She was a bad example. I’m working on myself so I love alone time. I came from toxic , abusive relationships. I need time alone to become better and stronger emotionally and mentally. And then I miss my man and want to grope him up ten times more. It’s also a lot of responsibility to care for another person all the time and give give give all the time.

How can a woman express this in a way that doesn’t make her partner feel neglected or upset. I feel like after this conversation is had, there is a bit of tension or pressure. I have had this conversation before and the next conversations are based upon, do you want to see me today or not which makes the woman feel guilty for wanting space and sometimes ignoring her need for that space to please their partner. I'm not sure how you mismanaged a situation, no context BUT if she said she needs space. Just agree, go no contact, and move on. If she comes, make sure she does all of the pursuing. Make sure she works to get back with you if you want her back.

Context is extremely important when she says she needs space. If you've changed for the worse, she's unsure if she has a future with you, you've stopped doing things you used to etc., you can most likely get her back by showing her that you understand what she's saying and are willing to change. But if your girl drops the bomb that she met another guy who gives her butterflies, there's a 99.99999% chance she's already moved on. The moment she met him, all the previous love, attraction, feelings etc. for you disappeared. The only reason she's telling you she needs time to think is because she wants to slowly phase you out of her life or even worse, stay friends. Don't let her do this. Do your best to make her feel at least SOME pain from throwing away everything you had together for a guy she met last week. Do not let her jump to a new guy and ween herself off of you in the process.

my girlfriends mom had been battling cancer long before we started dating and last month the doctors placed her in hospice. While her mother was in and out of the hospital i was helping my girlfriend as much as i could with anything she needed. On the 4th of july i knew she felt completely off and i asked her what if there is anything else i can do to help, and she told me she just needs more space and hates how our relationship had been so one-sided because she can't give me anything back right now. i told her i do this because i love her. the conversation ended well. I waited a week and texted her to let her know i'll always be there for her but i haven't heard back from her since. It'll be a month this Friday of no contact and i know i just need to give her space. Im trying to hang in there but its so difficult.

Hey man, so first off, I'm sorry you are going through this. You GF is more than likely dealing with a whole host of emotions, and so the best thing you can do is fade off and give her space. I hope, however, that you are not just waiting around for her? You have a life to live, and you can't control the outcome of this relationship, so it's in your best interest to not wait. If she comes back, great, but what if she doesn't? Timing is everything, and it seems to me like your timing with her is off, but that doesn't mean it won't happen in the future. It just means right now things aren't working out, and this is OK.

This has been so tough but at least i got closure and i know her mom is in a better place now. i just wish i got a call...

There should be a t shirt that says “stop crying over girls”. They should never be in power over a man, meaning control how you feel or be able to manipulate you “im insure” = “idk how to be direct and i wanna check out mentally & process getting over you while we hangout”. Women process emotions during the relationship until they’re all healed and ready to rug pull you. They’re nature. This comes out as “i need space” Notice when they’re processing (e.g., getting annoyed much more easily or disrespecting you consistently, when they didn’t previously)
