Hi emma, i am an exchange student from Mexico and I am currently in Austria. I can totally understand how you feel especially with the language and friends. I am so glad that you did this video because it reminds me that I am not the only one struggling here. Also, your english is really good. Imagine me, a mexican in austria who only speaks english and spanish (i am REALLY struggling in the language). Keep trying and i know we can do it!

You’re literally my favorite youtuber bc not only do you upload AMAZING content, but you’re so pretty and relatable and I feel like you’re being so real and honest about your experience as an exchange student which is awesome bc not many youtubers show the good AND the bad, lol. But anyways I LOVE LOVE LOVE your channel and I literally am like, waiting on my phone every Wednesday and Sunday for the uploads 😂 and btw, I can totally relate about the whole crush thing haha, you’re not a psychopath 😂

Aww I’m sorry that you feel like you can’t speak your mind and that the language barrier is hard! Don’t call yourself stupid though, I think that as time passes you will get more comfortable. I wish the best for you and hope that your experience gets better 💛 I’m happy that you are having fun though! I see what you’re saying though about the freedom thing, like I said I wish you the best!!

I was an exchange student last year and I could see myself in you for so many aspects! I was so pissed with the fact that I couldn't go anywhere by myself and stuff like that. But it'll get better, I promise😊 homesickness is normal, just don't isolate yourself, but make it a reason to open up more to other people!

Take it from one who is been an exchange student in the US years ago, it is completely normal to not know if you are happy or not. The exchange year is an emotional roller coaster, especially the first half of it! It is normal to be homesick and to feel a bit stupid and confused in school and feel that you don’t know enough English! It’s how it was for me and for pretty much everyone! But it will get better! Also the weight, it’s just the way your body is reacting to this huge change. I was also eating healthy and gained weight but you will loose once you go back!

Aww girl your English is absolutely incredible! I literally would have thought it was your first language! I can’t imagine what you’re going through because I’m nowhere near fluent in another language but I can speak Spanish conversationally but as soon as I’m around a fluent speaker I literally feel like I can’t understand or speak at all. But you’re doing great and your English is WAY better than conversational

this video was sooo relatable, thank you! I moved to Spain a month ago from England with (very) basic Spanish. Although I go to a British school, a lot of people are Spanish or have lived here for a longg time and I often feel like I don’t fit in with them. but then I remind myself that I am actually starting to fit in and I’m usually overthinking it. so many ups and downs aha, but I know we will get there one day! keep being you, and you don’t need to apologise about the negativity because I think this is great - you showing the real experience 💛💛

I'm really thinking about being an exchange student, but the price... When I find a cheaper one, it is soo hard to get in. Like about 10 people can go from the whole country where i live. But i'm still thinking about if I'm mature enough to be an exchange student. And the good thing is that here, if go out for a year you don't have to redo the whole year. You '' just'' have to take an exam from the subjects. So you basically have to learn through the summer but i think it is totally worth it. Great video as usually.

I would hope no one at school would ever pick on you about it, because I’m sure none of them could speak Swedish lol! 💖 I’m pretty sure that in your road trip video, that you mentioned being Eugene, so you’re living in Oregon then? How do you like it? Obviously you can’t choose what state you were going to, too bad that wasn’t an option for you, I live in Boston, and I’ve also lived in California, Oregon wouldn’t have been a place I would’ve chosen.
