Listen, I am a Jamaican and let me tell you some of us just damn dark and ignorant. All I see from this vids apart from the nature or info you share, especially this one is the love between you both. I mean it's there in the way you look at each other and touch each other. I mean love is love no matter the colour of our skins

Very interesting conversation. My husband and I have been married for 45 years, as an interracial couple I understand you 100%.. his family did not accept me, but he made it very clear to them that I was the love of his life, and 45 years later 2 grown up kids and 2 grand children we still love each other very much. And thats all it matters, the love for each other ❤

As a Jamaican I am very disappointed with the way you are both treated, I cannot imagine any Jamaican behaving in that way, we are usually very warm, open and friendly, we promote one love. Just know not all Jamaicans think or behave like that. Wish you guy’s every success in your relationship. Love you guys.

To be honest there is an element of racism in every ever country (race)...l'm a white Scotsman and l moved to london over 40 years ago..l met and had a daughter with a girl whose father was Grenadan and mother from St Lucia..London of course is very open minded and we had no problem there...But when l tooK her up to my country Scotland l noticed a difference in people..lt's not that they were rude or anything..but because l come from a small village most of them hadn't seen anyone of colour in that area because they hadn't travelled..So it was more liKe curiosity and naive ignorance...Anyway to cut a long story short, my daughter has now a relationship with a Jamaican man and has given me 3 gorgeous brown grandaughters.....And although me and daughters mom have split up we still get on great with one another...Both of us are in our mid 60's now and it's been an amazing journey which we wouldn't change for anything...

I just found your channel and subscribed! You are a gorgeous couple and I wish you every success. I started dating interracially in the early 80s in the American south. The white people stared or frowned. Unfortunately, black men physically attacked me on several occasions. I was always able to handle it, but it shouldn't have ever happened. Things are better here now, but far from perfect. Just stay strong and know that your love is stronger than most. I pray for your relationship to grow and prosper

This is not about racism but memories of our trip to Jamaica in 1979. We landed in Montego Bay and were picked up by a taxi driver who suggested we should spend a few days by his parents in s small village a couple of miles outside Montego Bay, and so we did. After a few days we took a walk in in surroundings. After a while walking we met a guy who looked at us and said "Hey, you look like you are from Sweden, do you know Peps?" Peps is a Swedish guy singing reggae songs och nearby there was house owned by a Jamaican reggae artist, cannot remember who it was but anyhow it is unforgettable.'

Beautiful couple! My fiancé and I are an interracial couple and we have been together for 20 years. I’m Jamaican and he is white English. Luckily for us we live in a really diverse part of England. I’m actually born in England but growing up here I never really felt English because I wasn’t accepted. People always asked me where I was born then they would say ‘no but really where are you from?’ As my generation grew up there were more and more mixed couples. So much so that a third of my sons school friends are from mixed relationships. When David and I fell in love we didn’t see colour but I went to Uni in the north of England were things are very different from the south. That’s when I started noticing people watching us. My family love David and his family are very reserved but they accepted me. My family call him ‘the honorary Jamaican.’ He loves Jamaican food so my family love to feed him. I love your part at the end we are one race. Love is power. Stay beautiful. I still get followed around supermarkets when I go abroad. Greece was the worst. I had someone in a hotel ask if I was Indian or African because they don’t trust Africans because Africans steal. Can you believe that? I always get nervous when we go on holiday. I’m actually a mix of white, Afro Caribbean and Indian Caribbean but I only know Jamaican culture same as my grandparents. David gets really mad about racism but I guess I’m more used to it. Being black in England in the 1980s was not fun but I had a warm Jamaican family. Love can conquer all beautiful people.

It's sad that people pass remarks about killing and saying you stealing their woman. First of all, some Jamaican men just nuh ready yet, dem fi gwan and go siddung, and I said some, because you do have good Jamaican men, but child, we ladies have given dem so many chances and they blow it. Where is the law that you have to date your own race and your own country? I have given my own race so many chances that for the past year I'm desiring someone outside my own race. How am I selling out because I prefer someone different? Girl live your life. I tell People, happiness is key, once you happy do you. Life is too short to be staying with men/women who makes you unhappy and sad, sometimes that happiness is outside your race and country.

I’m unsurprised about the absurdly of how ignorant some Jamaicans are due to the fact that they’re a Black country in the Caribbean Islands. They have a history of British colonialism and Slavery. Due to slaves being imported from the Gold Coast (President-Day Ghana) to Jamaica as British Jamaica in their oversea colonies with the expansionism of colonial trade and policies towards the Passage Route through importation and exportation of slaves from Africa overseas through guidelines and regulations. Even the British Imperial Royal Navy has to abolish the slave trade due to heightening measures of supply stock, supply shortages, overall economic difficulties with managing their colonies due to endless wars and battles in Europe. They wanted the Transatlantic Slave Trade to be abolish. That is when European colonialism has to be established due to many African emperors and empresses still continuing the practice of the slave trade cycle through buying and selling African slaves to let them be exported and shipped to other countries. I thought Jamaicans do not see race. But they do see skin color but it is only when they culturally curious and have some sort of culture shock. All thought all my Rastafarians were welcoming of all ethnicities and sexes no matter nationality, creed, race, country of origin, and gender :(. ☹️☹️

I think in Jamaica we stare because we don't see someone like him very often, also I think they stare because in some parts of Jamaica people think that people who look like him are rich, which is unfortunate because some Jamaicans think that, or think that you've hit the Jack pot or your gold digger 😑 it's sad. Thank you so much for this , gives me a whole new insight into what you guys through on a daily. It’s interesting to see it from a different point of view. People will always have something to say and tbh what anyone do is not none of their business , always looking for something to benefit them in the whole process. I totally get where u are coming with feeling like an ATM being that I’m currently living in the u.s. , to them it looks like I’m “living my best life” , when my wallet is thin like Alex says lol. Keep your relationship strong kem and stay beautiful , I can truly see the love, you both have 🥰

Just found your channel yesterday and have fallen in love with you both. I‘ve watched a few of your vlogs so far but this one is so touching, I had to comment. I had no idea Jamaicans could be so unkind but I know that those people are in the minority and their behaviour is based on ignorance. Alex, just remember the kindness that was shown to you by Chris when you first met Kem whenever those ignoramuses show up. I pray for your protection both in Jamaica and in Sweden. God bless you both and God bless your union and may He make you a good example for other couples, period.

I watched to see how many points you mentioned I'd relate to. As I expected, I relate to most, though the extremity of being threatened with violence and death my partner and I have never experienced. I was wondering if there were some points that you were too shy to touch on though Kem. The experience in JA like you mentioned is much more explicit and often I personally feel like I don't fit in in either world (not in Switzerland where I live with my partner nor, sadly, in Jamaica anymore). The so called UPT people often see my partner as a souvenir to collect in a range of exotic foreigners they've met & can mention in their circles to prove their self importance. Oftentimes in these situations I'd be right beside him and they completely ignore me as if I'm not standing right there. Then on the other hand people give me an attitude when they realize we are together. It's veey often me who gets the brunt of their negative attitudes though. Like you said, they either now see me and him as an ATM or they say nasty things to me that in essence mean that I think I'm better than them (which I def do not). It just seems like I don't fit in anymore unless I visit JA by myself. I've cut off countless people for this very reason as it showed me who really were genuine and who were not. This is such a deep and nuanced topic to discuss as there are so many layers of emotion that come along with it & I'm just brushing the surface. There's a lot I could talk about in terms of the sense of identity (or loss of identity) associated with migrating and being in an interracial relationship. Anyway, thanks for sharing. It was interesting to see your perspective on the topic :)

Wow! Wow wow.... we can relate so much. Kem too have been in the position where she had to cut off people due to the same reasons you mentioned.! But love wins all the time and as long as we know the heart of one self and the genuineness of our relationship we will win every time. Good luck to you and you husband!

I’m Just browsing and came upon u guys again, It’s just so sad that this racism topic is just so disgusting, people make their choices of who they want to associate with. I’m a Jamaican myself and I don’t see any issue with interracial couples. I live in the US and I find it sad that some people are stuck in a box. We’re living in much different times. I love u guys, u guys are so down to earth and so organic. Do ur thing and ignore as much as u can. In the US there is so much interracial couples, when I see an interracial couple I just smile and keep it moving. We have racism a lot in the US but it does not stop the individuals from getting together. Racism is just an uncomfortable topic.

I’m a black Jamaican going with a person from India and I get a lot of the same things and I live in the United States. I get more hate when I go to the Indian Sikh Temple’s and Indian community. Usually my Jamaican friends are happy for me and other Jamaicans are happy to see us together. I’m not bothered by it because I feel like that’s a part of being into and Interracial relationship so I just roll with the flow so if you love each other don’t worry about what other people think.
