I was a recruiter for a short amount of time. I will tell you, on Indeed, we would pay to list jobs, a job would expire, but we would post it again, because we had a minimum we had to list. I quit, as I am an honest, empathtic person, and was sick of interviewing people, knowing there was no job for them. I had a quota of interviews I had per week, even if there were no jobs. disgusting

I've recruited since 2017, and have had the same experience across multiple recruiting jobs, increasingly so since 2020!! 💯 Whenever I would ask to have a meeting to get a better idea of what the hiring managers and the upper management's candidate expectations, I'd be let go within a week. Hardly any of the dozens of candidates were getting hired. The majority of them were discriminatory in one way or another, but this company was so bad they had to finally fire one manager when I pointed out his blatant discrimination (wanting young, male candidates only, preferably tall, and with no health issues), yet we had to maintain/refresh "job" postings, had quotas to fill of interviews and hires. Mind you, most of the time the have recruiters "wearing many hats" so they can save money by overworking their employees. And if you even ask why something is being asked of you that's not in the job description and you're not equipped (i.e. traveling far distances, hours on your own nearly daily in your old car with only minimum mileage reimbursement for a "remote" role, asking you to use your own personal phone number for work for a contact role, etc.) is also grounds for termination from most of these backwards corporate slimeballs. They are complete hypocrites who believe employees should be loyal to them, and that "loyalty" should be their incentive for working for the lowest possible market values, but never show loyalty for their employees. Many of them sadly think that even minimum wage is too high. Always lookout for yourself first and foremost.

I was well qualified I had the same background as the manager! There were two openings. I didn’t get it. Went back to their website the next day and realized the same job was posted again for two more openings! So even if someone beat me out there was obviously room for me in other slots. You said it nicer than I would have. Companies can afford to pay people mroe and hire Americans at good salaries with good benefits but they choose to move overseas or to race to the bottom with garbage jobs offering compensation and benefits far beneath what the role actually merits, knowing people are desperate enough that they will be underpaid as long as they are still getting paid relatively more than they would from even worse jobs. Race to the bottom. This is happening in tech now that everyone has a STEM degree - - moving overseas, lay people off to have fewer people do the work of multiple people, or offer garbage salaries because there is so much competition from new grads and people that got laid off that they know people are desperate. Companies can afford plenty but they will do whatever is CHEAPEST and they ruin the economy by price gouging at the same time as not increasing wages, all so that a few people make more money but the majority don't have disposable income to spend on the goods and services that the companies sale. So people spend less or they go into debt to keep spending which isn't the same as stimulating the economy because they then have to devote their future income to that debt which keeps money from circulating and spreading through purchases. Then companies see drop in revenue and try to make up for it by increasing prices when the problem is that people are broke because they don't get paid enough and prices are already too high. And repeat endless loop. These kids already know what's up which is why they don't care about education anymore and people act like it's a mystery to see Gen Alpha and Gen Z checked out of learning when they literally know their parents are struggling despite being educated and despite doing everything right so they figure there's no point in playing by the rules because if that advice worked the people giving it to them wouldn't be broke. Gen Z knows teachers are broke that's why they don't believe teachers have good advice about the value of education because they are living proof that it is not valuable in today's society. Just saying.

I agree with the girl at 12:53. She was spon on! 💯 I don't agree with the in-person application process because even then they can take your resume and application and toss it in the trash! But she's correct about these online applications asking for too much! I remember applying online and there would be a questionnaire at the end of it. They'll be like, "are you a republican or democrat?" "What would you do in this (__insert scenario here__)?" They would ask crap that had NOOOOTTTTHHHIIIINNNGGG to do with the job at hand! You fill out an application and they'll say, "we'll call you." and they NEVER do! It shouldn't be on ME to "check up on" my application when its YOUR job to do that anyway! MY responsibility is to fill out the application! THAT'S IT! There should be no asking for my SSN! There should be no questionnaire! There shouldn't be any test to take either! RIGHT NOW on Indeed, anytime you fill out an application, there's a test that comes after it! NO! I'm NOT taking a test for a cashier role! I'm NOT going on your website to create an account to "keep track" of an application that's ALREADY BEEN SUBMITTED! Job seekers aren't the problem! Employers are! They can all go to hell!

Degree in Psychology and B.A. , here in the U.S. She has a distinctive accent, but she speaks English fluently. She could not get a job anywhere , even an entry level . So, one day she applied for a Receptionist job in a Law firm. She came for the interview with HR manager. Guys, do u know what that HR Manager told her ? She said to her " you have a heavy foreign accent, I cannot hire you . People will not understand you " even so, this is a blatant employment discrimination. It is like saying I cannot hire you because you are a foreigner. To make story short. She went to Department of Human Rights. The investigation revealed a pure discrimination. To get her quiet about this that law firm gave her about five hundred dollars to get her quiet .

I currently work for a company doing spotter/shuttle work. It pays 22/hr and I work a LOT. They can’t keep people at this company. Lots of people quit and I don’t consider 22/hr to be low pay but unfortunately inflation makes anything under 30/hr not worth it for a lot of people it seems. I called HR saying I applied for a number of jobs on their site, had worked for specific named managers on the 9th floor doing XYZ, etc. The foreign sounding HR guy volunteered, "we don't even look at the resumes people send us". At that point everything fell into place and all the non-sense games I was experiencing in my job hunt with this and other companies made sense. Been unemployed for 10 months now. Barely any unemployment money. But it is not so bad when you have a lot of savings. So save people! I also started investing during unemployment. The less you have, the more you should financial plan. I applied for tons of jobs but got no answer anywhere so I feel like I hit a wall like most people. Most job listings are just for data harvesting or to hear your salary expectations. They don't even hide it. My last interviewer only wrote down my salary expectation, nothing else. I gave them 1 star in Google, idc. I am now starting an almost unpaid internship in a new field so I hope to find something in that field. Wish me good luck. By the way, everybody is unemployed because we decided to go to college instead of learning a trade. The butchers, carpenters, bike repair people are not unemployed. Think before you study.

It’s so confusing watching so many people now cry about not being able to find employment when just two or three years ago everybody has is arrogant elitist pious entitled attitude towards the working industry. It was all about hire me to do remote from home OR ELSE… I guess the industry flipped them on their heads and made a better move and called everybody’s bluff. Now everybody’s crying. But I remember telling people years ago that this entitled attitude was not gonna go very far you’re not going to change the industry to work around entitled lazy work from home mentality. I just did not see that happening. And I guess I was right. Now AI will replace so many people who are just arrogantly quitting jobs and leaving companies astray. It’s hard to believe that it flipped around in only a few short years, but here we are. I think if people had better attitudes about going back to work in office, this likely wouldn’t have been so salty. But this generation has proven to be problematic, temperamental, and will go to the Internet and expose companies at the drop of a dime the second they don’t get their way. That kind of liable behavior is a recipe for disaster, and now look. These very sane emotional people are the very ones who would’ve caused these companies future headaches. When society decided that they were the kind of community that will go to the Internet and expose and cancel anyone at a whim, I think corporations decided to change up the game. And now it has backfired on cancel culture. Basically cancel culture has been canceled themselves.
@heyitz_rj5 ай бұрын
12:36 This one right here is the perfect example of why these companies aren’t hiring. Because they aren’t realistic on who this job is for. Someone with her level of education and experience would need 10x that salary to even CONSIDER working there. As she said, you need to be giving that job to people just starting out. This also proves that unless you have DECADES of experience companies really don’t think you are deserving of a living wage. Which, says a lot about these companies. It’s like we have to fight tooth and nail JUST FOR A LIVING WAGE, INSANITY!!!!
