@@RiptideAutomotive I don't know how you got a hold of the autopsy photos. I'm usually pretty good at finding stuff like that and was not able to. Only thing I found was a surgeon saying he had a "three-inch incision to his arm" and "a skin tear on his right forearm" certainly doesn't sound like a lost arm to me, and if he had lost his arm the surgeon would have certainly pointed that out when asked about it in court

Uhhhh yeah that could be a possibility, but it’s important not to jump to conclusions about people like that based on a short phone call. She could’ve been trying to calm down because she didn’t want to upset him. It’s more than likely that the dispatch worker took steps to calm her down over the phone considering that’s a part of their training.

That’s a great point! People act very different depending on how their specific fight or flight mechanism is tuned. The fact that she held it together during one of the worst moments of her life speaks a lot. She’s the type of person who runs in when everyone else is running away! As a veteran and ex-EMT, I could say with certainty that I know the type! She’s the type of person I’d want to help me if I was that close to death. Her actions spoke wonders! Amazing job!

Hate old people and hate people who fought in the war. Add in the fact that eldery people are very vulnerable people, and rightfully have more money than a young adult who's barely worked yet compared to someone who's lived for 80 years and lived in housing conditions that would be illegally unsafe nowadays.

Very cunning too. Because if she has a slip of the tongue and says Paul she can shrug and say she was thinking about the character in the movie. That way Paul is just a character in a movie and no longer a real person she has hurt. It becomes less real to her and it is a way to psychologically manage herself under questioning. She doesn't have to face it and deal with anything she doesn't want to.

I'm a 63 year old disabled veteran and this is what scares me the most as I age. I work very hard to remain independent, mobile, physically strong, armed and only around people I know very, very well. I do not want a care giver, certified or not, anywhere near me. I worked with elderly veterans getting care by people like this woman and heard stories of these care givers hurting, stealing, and abusing the Veterans they are supposedly were there to help.

I think that was a strategy on the part of the police. They don't know at this point whether he's involved or not, but they want to give the boyfriend a reason to tell what he knows because they want him to realize he COULD easily become a suspect as well. I thought Chad acted way too casual about hearing that his girlfriend was involved in something serious. He didn't appear to be, or sound, shocked or even interested in what she might have done. Then the clip of him stretching and yawning so exaggeratedly seemed inappropriate too. Like trying too hard to look casual. But, I guess he was cleared of involvement. Seemed strange though.

Paul Quandt Snr's neighbour, Virginia Grisson, is in the episode on Criminal Confessions - Season 3, Episode 9 - that focuses on this brutal attack and the resultant murder of Quandt. Although that was aired in 2020 it's clear that the neighbour is still badly affected by it and she probably does have trauma as a result. My heart goes out to her and particularly to the veteran's son and family..

And I don't like cherry picking people like you who can try to get all technical and pretend like you don't understand the context of the content without first asking for understanding. It's terrifying to think that there are animals like these whose job is to take care of people who can't take care of themselves properly and they use that position to abuse the people they are supposed to help. But I have seen enough cases to know it happens a lot more than people think, and in many cases they are not discovered because they don't end up killing anyone, just abusing them. People should be more careful vetting who they let into their houses or the houses of loved ones who can't take care of themselves. Rest in peace, he fought until the end.

@@path_selector this old war veteran, in his last days, was brutally attacked and robbed. Despite being critically injured and disabled, he managed to escape the house, get help, and cling onto life just long enough to get two psychopathic murderers face justice. This man died doing something meaningful and showed that he's got balls of steel. If his entire life led up to that moment, then that proves that he's lived a good life, and he's a mad lad that deserves respect. I'm an author (in process on my first book), and it's these kind of thoughts and fears that inspired the book. It's about an old Viking warrior who wants to go to Valhalla. He's lived for so long that he's the last of his generation in his clan. He doesn't really know anybody there, and all his relatives are busy with their own lives - too busy to visit him. So, he leaves his comfortable home and warm fire in order to pursue a worthy death. (Anyway, this topic is dear to me, so I have a lot of thoughts on it. The reason she wasn't if she wasn't is probably because she either struck a deal like Breana said or it was proven that she did not know the extent of what had happened. Maybe that psycho told her that she had robbed the guy but no assault or murder happened. Or simply that she was there when a robbery took place. I believe the mother lied because she did not know the full extent of what had happened and probably thought it was a minor crime.

@@kingwacky184 I don’t really see them striking a deal. Like what would even be the point? They had Maranda caught in numerous lies. They had her confession on tape; and to top it all off, they found her personal journal detailing the entire evil plan. I mean it couldn’t be a more open and shut case. They had her dead to rights. What could her mother possibly offer them to save her own skin that they didn’t already have? I think it’s more likely that they just weren’t interested in her. They were after the murderers, not the murderers mom. Sure she lied to law enforcement, and yeah that was a crime, but at the end of the day pursuing her for it would use up precious time, energy, and man-power that could have otherwise been better spent prosecuting the actual killers.
