This weeks video is a bit different. I wanted you to have the experience of what it's like to live in France by walking through one of France's most beautiful city's, Aix-en-Provence. I wanted you to have the sights and sounds of everyday life and to see how the french go about their day. I hope you enjoy.

Wow, that's a lot of editing!! I, too, can still breathe in that French ambiance whenever I'm in the country. I've traveled to manymplaces but France just has that quality that I've found nowhere else. Great job on the video!

Beautifully shot, edited and captioned. Well done. You do give a flav🎉our of "La vie Française" . The French are relaxed, deliberate and sensual. They enjoy and sense each offering of life before relishing it. Delightfully formal at first only to welcome you, more closely, once formalities are done.. My town is Uzés. Smaller but similar to Aix in many ways. Provence is a land of magic if only one takes the relaxed time to embrace all that it offers .

This is really heartwarming. I’m a student living here for some moment and to be frankly I really love this city. The definition of beauty. Also there’s the ambiance that really special here, couldn’t find it in another city. However i see the people doesn’t seem to love this city that much, a lot of complain etc, while there’s a lot more to appreciate than to be complain about for me personally. 😁

Sam, thank you for this beautiful & sweet little gem of a video sharing all the simple pleasures of Aix & your life in the South of France. I visited there over 20 years ago, and loved it as well, when I lived with a French friend in the beautiful town of Menton for 4 months. France is a country that is very special to me, and I have been blessed to have been able to travel there many times over the years. There are so many more places there I want to discover & experience, as well as revisit some I loved again. Hopefully, I will be returning to spend a month in the early Fall….between a few places in the Southwest & Paris. But until then, I have been living vicariously through your & other great vlogs that help transport me to one of my favorite places on Earth. Big hug to you & Paul from Los Angeles! 💜

Thank you, Sam, for the time, effort, and delightful videos you’ve created. I recently purchased tix and a stay (in Lourmarin) for my first ever visit to FR, and your videos and tips were instrumental as part of those bookings. I would be so proud to create a personal video, like this one, just for myself and family/friends. Might you recommend some equipment (and technology) I might invest in to to make that a reality? Currently the only photographic tech I have is my iPhone 14 😊. Any tips/ideas are very much appreciated. Again, thank you so much for the beauty you’re sharing with us all.

Oh my gosh Corey, this comment means so much to me. Thank you for taking the time to comment this and I’m so glad you are staying in Lourmarin, it’s so beautiful and I go there often because I love it so much. I use a Fujifilm X-t4 for filming my videos. Ever since using Fujifilm I have a hard time filming with my phone because I love the quality of the videos with Fuji . But you can definitely use your phone, I have the 11 so my phone isn’t as good as the newer one. I would recommend watching some tutorials on KZbin for filming with your phone and start practicing with your phone now🤗 I’ve definitely seen a big improvement from when I first started filming… I always moved my camera too fast and didn’t have a steady hand. So practice is key! Enjoy your trip to France and I love that you’ll be filming your trip here, it’ll be nice to be able to look back on your memories 🙌🏽

Excellent aesthetic job there, with a great selection of shots. And I'm a big fan of shooting past a foreground object. I've subscribed -- it's the first of your videos I've seen, and it hit home for me because I too have been thinking of a slower-paced video which takes its time and doesn't need to trip over itself with breakneck speed in imparting information. You did it so well. And now I'm curious: I shoot with an iPhone but I see your camera is a Fujifilm mirrorless... is that right? If so, it gives nice depth of field... and I appreciate you bringing in all the natural sound to give audible depth to the shots. I know what sort of work goes into this, and so I'm just here to say: brava!

Hi Aida! Thank you for your lovely compliments🥰 I don’t know what came over me this week, it’s not my typical video but I was inspired by the sights and sounds of the city and wanted to share the feeling of a normal day in the city. Hey Sam, Native Provence boy here. It warms my heart to know not all who come to France see only the jokes or confusing aspects of what my country has to offer. And to know people also visit the more grounded and charming cities like Aix (which I have a visited a few times since it isn't that far away), I don't know, it feels nice, France isn't just Paris and its dirty streets, There's more than just this. And I hope more people see the little things that make this country more charming to many. Southern France has a lot to offer, and that's why people up north come here during summer (as much as some don't like them (yes rivalries between different regions exist, it gets confusing really fast, but I won't explain further since I came here to leave a nice word and not France Lore)) Anyway, I hope your stay here only gets better !

I’m so grateful I get to show the beauty of France and specifically Provence. I hope it gives others an idea of visiting here instead of always going to Paris or at least take a short train ride down to the south so you get to experience both. 💕

@@SamFournier I've been to Paris for a day or two in october of 2021, if I were to give ut my honest opinion, it's pretty mediocre I suppose. And obviously since it was autumn I got the whole package for the French city starter pack, which includes _rain_ and traffic, but apart from the cliché setting, The old architecture is something I appreciated looking at, but of course I'm biased toward my region heh..

Bonjour! Thank you for an excellent video! Aix-en-Provence looks perfect. We are looking for a moderate summer climate area, with a plaza lifestyle, and near good healthcare (my wife has MS and is a cancer survivor). We walk, and ride, so public transportation is required. I am a retired American educator. We helped a new school open in Lviv, then spent 6 weeks in Krakow; we're in Tallinn for a month before heading back to Oregon. My wife and I hope to visit France after the Olympics. We plan to rent out our Portland condo and then travel throughout Europe, and perhaps help Ukraine rebuild after the war ends. There are several significant advantages to living in France: climate, healthcare, culture, and infrastructure. Merci!! Dean and Cindy
